This shouldn't be something to mention really, but yesterday I had to have an ECG & the (male) nurse asked if I was happy with him doing it or if I'd prefer a female. I overheard the same nurse ask a (female) colleague if she would mind doing an ECG on another female patient as he thought she might be more comfortable.

It reminded me of the smear test discussions where the lovely cyclist said that unless a smear test was being carried out with a penis, women should stop complaining (paraphrasing).

It was a relief that some staff/hospitals are still considerate of women's need to feel comfortable/secure in medical environments.

I'm really pleased for you that you had the test with people that made you feel comfortable.

I was happy for him to do it, but was pleased that he asked as other women may be less comfortable.
