Not sure if the legalities of copying and pasting an email, so won't. But I'm bloody furious. Their reply to my questions about the safeguarding of girls reads in a scarily similar way to the email I received from GG about the same issue. Has anyone else contacted them?

BadPennyNoBiscuit · 01/04/2019 01:03

Thats pretty sinister.

Candidpeel · 01/04/2019 06:52

You can copy and paste the email. Unless you have signed an agreement to keep something confidential you are under no obligation to. (IANAL) A lot of these letters get shared eg by FPFW on twitter.

ToeToToe · 01/04/2019 07:40

You can share it.

Guess who had a hand in these new guidelines for Gymnastics clubs and Girl Guides?

David Challenor. Convicted child rapist, who wore a dress and called himself "Lucy" while raping a child.

Guess who wants to dilute and disregard safeguarding measures for children? Predatory men.

LizzieSiddal · 01/04/2019 07:55

I’m utterly shocked DC had a role in these guidelines. Are you sure?

Amber1079 · 01/04/2019 07:58

I just googled this DC person, feel sick. What was he in relation to gymnastics?

PreseaCombatir · 01/04/2019 08:50

How the fuck does DC have any day over the safeguarding of children.
This whole acceptance without exception bullshit is a fucking nonces red carpet

Toorahtoorahaye · 01/04/2019 08:57

I’ve been looking at the charities advising the schools on trans inclusion - possibly same orgs advising likes of GG and British Gymnastics etc. They are providing wrong information in regard to the Equality Act 2010 and have gender identity as a protected characteristic instead of sex.

Be worth sharing this: Letter from prominent lawyers highlighting what women's legal rights are under the EA2010 www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3546705-letter-from-prominent-lawyers-highlighting-what-women-s-legal-rights-are-under-the-ea2010

drspouse · 01/04/2019 10:08

ToetoToe do you have any evidence DC was involved?

Because while AC has said they were involved in advising GG, GG has denied this, so it's hard to know who's telling the truth (as both parties in that case have been, er, liberal with their definition of truth).

ToeToToe · 01/04/2019 11:37

Both David and Aimee Challenor were involved in the "Trans-Inclusion policies" at the Green Party and Stonewall, and strong proponents of gender self ID.

These are the policies which have been adopted by British Gymnastics and Girl Guides - which allow children to take part based on their gender identity rather than biological sex.

David Challenor also spoke at one of the Green Party Conferences (possibly AFTER his arrest - I can't quite remember) about Trans-Inclusiveness policies & self ID - there was a screen-shot of the conference line-up knocking around twitter at the time of his imprisonment - but I can't find it now.

David & Aimee Challenor took out an injunction against another Green Party member wanting to speak out on safeguarding matters arising from these trans-inclusion policies. twitter.com/djandyhealey/status/1033671833390907392

Green Party, Stonewall and Aimee Challenor do not like people talking about this. For obvious reasons.

KatvonHostileExtremist · 01/04/2019 11:37

I would guess that the connection is Aimme C is on the Stonewall trans advisory group and this group would steer policy for Stonewall. Groups such a GG and BG then contact Stonewall. And listen to their version of reality.

DC was not involved with Stonewall but the position of influence Aimee (They fail to mention their more interesting hobbies in the about section) has, is concerning. Especially given AC complete disregard for safeguarding, which is detailed in this Green Party internal enquiry.

www.stonewall.org.uk/trans-advisory-group

They have their own agenda and where it conflicts with the right of women to same sex spaces, it should be challenged.

A tweet by the man the Challenors tried to silence via a court injunction. They tried to silence him by accusing him of transphobia, when in actual fact he was raising safeguarding issues re. their trans-inclusion policies.

Safeguarding of children needs to be front and centre of this - the Green Party allowed members to be bullied and silenced for asking questions. Stonewall, NSPCC, British Gymnastics, Girl Guides - all seem to be selectively deaf when people raise safeguarding concerns with them.

Aimee's proposed amendments to Green Party policy are on pages 50-52. Very keen to extend the acceptance of unconventional relationships as being 'equally valid'

"The Green Party recognises that relationships come
in different forms and that different relationship statuses are equally valid. Relationship status in this and the above contexts include those who are consensually and without exploitation: in relationships not legally formalised in a marriage or civil partnership; cohabiting as partners; not in a relationship;
in long distance relationships or in relationships where the partners do not live together; in relationships which do not involve sexual contact, or exclusively involve sexual contact; with or without children; and those in relationships which involve more than one partner.”

NeurotrashWarrior · 01/04/2019 13:35

I'm going to keep bleating on about this but the no outsiders stuff absolutely confuses sex and gender throughout the pack.

The idea is great, it originated from an idea to tackle homophobia, then he decided to include all the EA. Fine and dandy except it's not been fully thought through. He appears to have absorbed something from somewhere (stonewall?) and so led to the wording on the posters he designed, as included in the pack.

Aha I found the motion proposed by David Challenor. It's about improving accessibility on p.42. He's using the name Baloo and wanting gender neutral toilets at conference. Seconding the motion is Katrina Swales, one of Aimee's furry friends.

This was after DC had been charged of child rape and torture which Aimee was fully aware of.

TeaForDad · 01/04/2019 14:29

I asked bg months ago and they never got back to me

Micah · 01/04/2019 14:35

There’s a facebook group where the policy was discussed. Most agreed with it saying their dc wouldn’t mind a trans child in the changing rooms, they’re only there to get changed etc.

I have a feeling british swimming has similar policy.

Ineedacupofteadesperately · 01/04/2019 14:36

Fucking hell. So scary how a known awful, terrible child rapist had influence over trans policies that so many are following. And parents are being stopped from talking about it. It's really very sinister.

Increasingly I just think we have to ask and ask and ask about safeguarding. The decent people in these organisations might have to toe the party line but we'll get them thinking about how this could impact the children they care about, their sons and daughters, nephews and nieces. And eventually, hopefully, the need to protect children will win out.

Zigbot · 01/04/2019 14:54

I contacted them in November 2017.

I can’t remember exactly why but it was something to do with having gender on a form and if it was the same as their previous genders I HAD to complete the form to get my DC their insurance. So had to play the game.

I said my child was a female and always would be as it was impossible to change sex. I got some email back about how lucky my child was but not every child would be like that.

I’m dyslexic so it was a big effort to contact them in writing by email and after a few back and forwards I left them to it.

I’ll show you mine if you show me yours - email that is. Grin

Mine didn’t bring up safeguarding as I was just pissed offers at having to pretend someone could change sex. I didn’t get into tvar

Zigbot · 01/04/2019 14:57

Just gone and found the email trail and I’m annoyed all over again.

MoltenLasagne · 01/04/2019 15:51

I'm sure the intention of this is to include relationships where the partners may not have children or not, but it's poorly written and so could be read as... "Relationship status... include those who are consensually and without exploitation: in relationships which... exclusively involve sexual contact with or without children

I'd give the benefit of the doubt but with knowledge of who's been helping to draft these guidelines it makes me concerned this is actually an intentional miswording.

truthisarevolutionaryact · 01/04/2019 16:23

When you examine the background of a number of those currently 'advising' and removing the rights of children and women to safe sex segregated spaces you will find a number of people with highly undesirable 'interests' and fetishes. In is a world where the porn addicts had not managed to infiltrate local and national government / society to such a degree this would render them totally unfit to be anywhere near children / safeguarding and the police / social services would be busy investigating them to evaluate whether they pose a risk to children. In today's odd world it is left to biological women to raise these concerns .

OrchidInTheSun · 01/04/2019 16:36

Molten you have articulated what made me so uncomfortable about the wording.

We have learned nothing from the paedophile ring scandals.
