Very long over due. Glaring omission in terms of ROGD but one that is repeatedly talked about by detransitioners. When are the dots going to be joined?!

In general it's been known that social media use is linked to all sorts of negative stuff esp for teens for years hasn't it?

Big oversight in that is

Other sex related stuff ie are they being groomed or going to adult places on the net eg the children who met men through tindr and grindr in the news recently

I don't think it's routine. I also believe it can be a 'symptom' - eg it's well known that children with a mix of adhd and asd tend to become very screen addicted for several reasons. (I work with many children like this). Also depression; I know when my mood is low I'll tend to watch more crap. But then the content for these children definitely adds to the complex mix of what's going on for them.

My husband is a child and adolescent psychiatrist here in the US. Evaluating screen time use is part of the intake assessment.

Screen time, however, is not evaluated by pediatricians. Often pediatricians will refer children to a gender specialist without first referring them to a psychiatrist.
