Its dreadful. When you are a teenager, you do really stupid things which, by and large, you can move on from when you grow up. These poor girls are being encouraged to take part in binding which is not only dangerous but is likely to have long-lasting after effects.

Bloody hell. What an eye-opening article. Great writing Dr Em, but very sobering subject. Why would the UN guidelines not apply to young women in UK?

Here's the NHS document which is referenced in the article. Unbelievable that the NHS are encouraging this practice.
