Article about gnc kids in the American Bible belt.

Alabama, ranked number 1 religious state by the Pew research centre and doesn't have (at time of writing) non discrimination law covering gender identity and sexual orientation , is however very accepting and supportive of encouraging gender non conforming children to adopt the gender stereotypes that apply to the sex opposite to the one they were born.

Whod have thought? This religious, conservative, gun show having state would be more woke than Liberal New Hampshire.

And not at all about spotting potential homosexuality early and setting on a path to puberty blockers before unsavory sexual urges awaken, then neutering/spaying and trapping into a lifetime of medicalisation and communal delusion.

No, no. The people of Bible belt America have been horribly misjudged and are in fact nit at all homophobic. Just like Iran.

Perhaps we all need to be less judgmental.

Nb. Ive used spaying/neutering here purposely here because we are recommended to do this to pet animals before puberty to prevent undesirable sexual behaviour from ever developing and is exactly what I believe the purpose of puberty blockers is.

I'm confused. Are you saying they shouldn't encourage and allow gender non conformity?

Fallingirl · 23/03/2019 18:44
Hmm
Atalune · 23/03/2019 18:45

Sarah- I wonder if you are being purposefully obtuse here?

op single hand slow clap for the twisted bible belters in the Deep South. My mind boggles.

Children/adolescents who do not do through puberty must grow into some very strange KIDult state. We live in scary strange times.

SarahCarer · 23/03/2019 19:15

Actually I hadn't read the article. Reading the op I thought this was about gender non conformity rather than transgenderism.

Nightwitch · 23/03/2019 20:42

Sorry. Perhaps my op was a bit muddled.

I think a girl should be allowed a blue bike without having to call herself a boy.

I think a boy should be allowed to like sparkles and tutus without being told he's a girl. Especially when he's at an age when he may still believe in santa.

I am sceptical of social transitioning at primary school age.

I wonder how much harder it is for a child to desist when they have been "accepted" as the opposite sex from a very young age, by trusted educated adults, teachers, religious leaders, parents, their whole community and peers. When they have been feted as special and brave by all around them.
When any who question or object are demonised as bigoted bully's

When sparkly television shows celebrating children like them are mainstream viewing, sugarcoat ing the reality of what transition entails.

Children usually don't start seriously questioning the beliefs and authority they're brought up with until they get into their teens. If at all, coincidentally, when puberty is well underway.

If they're put on puberty blockers before that starts, then it's too late. Most children put on puberty blockers will go on to fully transition.

No need to apologise op! I should have read the article before commenting.

Don’t you see — Little Christopher isn’t gay, oh no! Mother just made a little mistake when Christopher was in her tummy, giving Christopher the wrong hormones, which gave Chris a little girl’s brain instead of a little boy’s.

But the doctor’s fixing that up with even more of the wrong hormones, and that way the body will match the brain. It’s just like kids who need insulin — that’s a hormone too, did you know that? So there’s nothing wrong at all with giving children hormones.

A little surgical procedure, not so different from removing an extra finger or fixing a cleft palate, and then Christine can grow up to marry that boy she met in Bible camp and never ever have to testify before Jesus and the neighbors that she does s-e-x in a way the Bible says is abomination.

Aaron admits he had a learning curve for parenting a transgender child. As he and his wife Erika watched Landon repeatedly throw fits over dresses and skirts as a young child, and demand a “boy short” haircut, they assumed Landon would eventually come out as a lesbian.

For Aaron, the struggle to accept the idea that his child might be gay stemmed, in part, from being raised in the deeply conservative Pentecostal church.

That poor, poor teenager - breast binding, mutilating surgery, a lifetime of trauma - because daddy couldn't get his head round having a lesbian for a daughter and wanted to "trans away the gay."

Yup, there's conversion therapy aplenty out there, but it isn't coming from GC feminists who advocate counselling and watchful waiting, it's coming from deeply homophobic parents.

BickerinBrattle · 23/03/2019 21:30

Yes. This is why major televangelists are in support of transgenderism.

It is a mistake to read the American scene and assume that the right-wing is a united front against genderism simply because the military doesnt want to accommodate and because the Heritage Foundation has provided a platform to feminists.

The tech industry, which is not liberal but libertarian, much of the Christian Right, and wealthy right-wing mega-donors like Jennifer Pritzker are all in support of genderism.

It tends to be the more Burkean conservatives who are against it — by that I mean conservatives who advocate a small state and regard genderism as state-mandated social engineering and state-mandated intrusion into family, education, and belief. Tucker Carlson is a prime example.

Then, when Allie was six and in the first grade, she chose to dress up for Halloween as a female character from the fashion doll franchise Monster High, complete with a wig and makeup.

A few weeks later, Allie’s struggle with her gender identity came to a head. “She told a teacher there that she wanted to die because everybody thought she was a boy and she was a girl,” Kimberly says.

Their pediatrician diagnosed Allie with gender dysphoria and told Kimberly and Joe to follow her lead in terms letting Allie live openly and fully.

“We asked [Allie,] ‘Do you want us to refer to you as she and her, and a girl? Do you want me to say my daughter instead of my son? And she was like ‘Yes, that’s what I want.'” Kimberly says. “And I said OK.”

Six years old. Have Allie's parents told Allie that people can actually change sex? That Allie can grow up to be a woman instead of a man? This is child abuse.

OldCrone · 23/03/2019 21:39

It's gay eugenics.
