(Yes, it's a DM link. No, I will not apologise for it.)

Piers Morgan has 'reported' Jameela Jamil's to the police on Twitter for 'mis-gendering' him amid their furious row about gender fluidity.

The row between the duo, which has been going on for over 24 hours, started earlier in the week with a disagreement about Sam Smith saying he doesn't identify as either a man or a woman.

Piers, 53, took to Twitter on Friday morning to after Jameela, 33, 'mis-gendered' him: '"This thing". Wow. On every level that is a shameful mis-gendering. Cc @metpoliceuk'.

I find this a difficult one. I am gender critical, but I do love Jameela!

I must admit I followed Jameela for a while but unfollowed because I found her a bit insufferable. She tries way too hard to be woke.

joggerbottom · 22/03/2019 22:33

He gets it- I read the comments earlier and most people really don't get it.

Singlenotsingle · 22/03/2019 22:35

I'm with Piers on this one! What's sauce for the goose...

Jameela's activism around body-shaming is brilliant though. She does use her platform well.

I never got Jameela. I've met too many London private school girls over the years. She always came across as Queens College, rather than as interesting or origional. Her wokeness does not surprise me.

OvaHere · 22/03/2019 22:46

They both sound insufferable there. A great example of Twitter bringing out the worst in people.

Haworthia · 22/03/2019 23:05

Jameela's activism around body-shaming is brilliant though. She does use her platform well.

That’s why I was interested in what she had to say. But then a plus size black journalist (her name escapes me now) instigated a pile on - this seems to be her raison d’etre on Twitter - for not featuring enough black women and/or plus sized women. And instead of calling it out for what it was (it was very unpleasant and bitter and personal) Jameela just sat there and took it and simpered about “oh yes I am ignorant about the black female experience and I’m so sorry and I promise to educate myself”. She came across as quite spineless and, like I said, trying to hard to be woke when she just needed to tell the pile on to fuck off.

Deadringer · 23/03/2019 00:59

Sorry, off topic but Piers Morgan is only 53?

donquixotedelamancha · 23/03/2019 07:14

I'm with Piers on this one! What's sauce for the goose...

The misgendering was calling him 'hun'. The man is a dick. With allies like him, who needs enemies?

InfiniteSheldon · 23/03/2019 07:21

Piers is making a point, a valid point that not only tra's can be misgendered and he is in a great position to bring this to the wider public.

Callmejudith · 23/03/2019 07:32

Jameela does use her platform well but is so woke she needs to giver her head a wobble.

Piers is insufferable but I'm glad we've got him on this issue, he has a huge audience

AstonishedFemalePersonator · 23/03/2019 07:33

With allies like him, who needs enemies?

Allies!? What is this "allies" bullshit? I have no brief for Piers Morgan one way or the other but I like what he did there.

And I find Jamil insufferably woke so I am glad to see her hoist by her own petard.

AnyOldPrion · 23/03/2019 07:51

Drat, I missed the quotemarks around “reported”. I thought he’d actually reported it.

Bearsinmotion · 23/03/2019 08:09

Actually the “report” to the police was for this tweet:

'LOL. He thinks "honey" can only be used about females. How do we send this thing back in a time machine to the era in which it belongs...?'

What do you think the reaction would have been if she was actually referring to India Willoughby or Aimee Challenor?

HotpotLawyer · 23/03/2019 08:18

It’s a stunt / joke.
Two adults choosing to get into a showboating Twitter prizefight.

teawamutu · 23/03/2019 08:35

I love Jameela Jamil's work on body shaming. I don't understand how someone who's so clear about exploitation and sexualisation of the FEMALE body can be such a simpering wokey 'feminism has to centre everybody especially the ones with dicks' useful idiot when TW hove into view.

Example of the cognitive dissonance of the SJW perhaps?

Funkaccino · 23/03/2019 09:01

For International Womens day she posted a list of interesting women to follow on Twitter.

Including Danielle "suck my dick" Muscato.

Now I dont wish to be rude but my opinion of Jameela is that pond bacteria have more common sense.

Funkaccino · 23/03/2019 09:04

People have been writing about body shaming through a feminist lense for decades. It's become trendy at the moment though so people have jumped on the bandwagon same as the trans thing. No thought is required when there is a heap of available information from legit and non legit sources

NeurotrashWarrior · 23/03/2019 09:15

Does she have children?

I didn't get owt till I had kids.

ZuttZeVootEeeVro · 23/03/2019 09:15

Example of the cognitive dissonance of the SJW perhaps?

Yes, quite rightly she challenged Piers Morgan about sex stereotypes, but not Sam Smith.

NeurotrashWarrior · 23/03/2019 09:15

Though many women obviously do get it without having a child first. So, on second thoughts, no excuse hun!

teawamutu · 23/03/2019 09:37

Funkaccino OMFG. Opinion revised: from feminist campaigner to unthinking woke parrot.

JJ is, come to think of it, the only person I've seen in ages to use 'woke' in a way that doesn't indicate 'total bollocks'.

Rufusthebewilderedreindeer · 23/03/2019 09:48

Cant stand mr morgan

But i think complaining to twitter is fair enough, calling him thing and it is really not on and is a deletable offense on mumsnet

I will be honest i am torn on the police bit....mainly because just because some people are misusing the police for thir own gain doesn't mean we shoukd lower ourselves to do the same

Then i think aaaahh fuckit, serves em right

So a bit conflicted

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 23/03/2019 10:07

Piers isn’t an ally. He’s a person some women agree with on some issues.

What I found most remarkable about this twitter spat, is that it’s perfectly ok with a lot of people for her to dehumanise him, repeatedly. What is this double standards crap? Why is it ok to bully, dehumanise and insult certain people but not others? She’s a massive hypocrite.
