WEP canvassing in local elections

Just had 2 woman knock on my door canvassing on behalf of the Women's Equality Party for local elections.

They were very nice and I asked about their stance on GRA reform, etc as I said I was gender critical and would not vote for them while their stance was TWAW. The said there has been "lots of internal discussion" around this but that indeed was the current stance.

I reiterated that I would not be voting for them on that basis (and potentially I would otherwise be interested) and could they please feed that back.

I've never started a thread in this section before but previous to mumsnet probably would have just taken their leaflet saying nothing.

For info I live in mermaids central!

Yeah that's fine,
It's so disenheartening to hear they've decided that "twaw' with no nuance whatsoever, I would have told them to fuck off.

I mean the WEP are dead in the water since Heather Bruskel Evans fiasco anyway. So long farewell.

At a time when so many women are politically homeless, you would think that WEP would be the one party we should be able to vote for. They are missing a trick, and clearly don’t care.

I know of some GC women in the Women's Equality Party and I think that the tide might be turning slightly - so feeding back to them at this time might be helpful.

I don't understand how the WEP can recognise the issues women face and come up with policies to solve these problems, when they believe anyone can identify in an out of being a women.

Wouldn't the obvious solution to sex inequalities be just identify as a man?

really sensible to politely explain why you won't be voting for them

I live in a cul de sac, over a bridge (really) and so never get any canvassers, but if I do, I'll copy your approach
