Consensus need lockable doors that go all the way to the floor. No curtains or saloon style doors.

I would imagine that being Loose Women, most of those who voted will be female. So, their opinion probably won't count

Janet saying to Colleen 'you're carefully not using the word' and Colleen's reaction spoke volumes, the message that they're not 'allowed' to mention trans has obviously gone through loud and clear.

I pity anyone who tries to intimidate Janet Street-Porter. She'd eat them alive. I've always liked her for not caring about the mockery she receives and continuing to be herself, and she's just gone up in my estimation.

The thing this vote shows is that most people feel uncomfortable with it - it's easy for the debate to be framed as TRAs vs TERFs but actually we're just vocalising what most people think. Maybe we need to make more of this.

Well well, I am surprised actually. I didn’t think Janet would be GC at all, based on interviews with Caitlin Jenner and others.

I note when she said what she said, the audience loudly applauded and Colleen looked uncomfortable, like she didn’t want to say anything. Not sure if that’s because Ruth is sitting next to her or not but if women on that show can’t say what they’re thinking, that says a lot

Ewe It depends what they mean by a unisex changing room - if it's full doors and completely enclosed, that's a completely different thing from one with a curtain that doesn't completely close at the sides - what people are understanding by the question seems key.

Janet Street-Porter is definitely showing some GC views there or at least a dislike and knowledge of TRA tactics. She's someone I really didn't like when I was younger but have grown quite fond of and am often in agreement with as I've become older.
I thought Ruth's "we have to think of the men..." comments were telling of her whole attitude to these issues.

How bad is it that they can't even use the word trans now? We are too afraid of the repercussions of the 'aggressive minority' - it's an utter disgrace and I am losing every bit of my empathy for these people.

Agree I started off just being opposed to self ID due to concerns about predatory non trans males abusing it and decided that they are nearly all at best deluded with body dysmorphoea and wedded to rigid sex stereotypes and at worst deeply misogynistic.
