Houston Public Library is apologizing after a man charged for sexually assaulting a child was allowed to entertain children at Drag Queen storytime.

Garza was charged with child sex assault in 2008. According to records, his victim was a child under the age of 14 years old.

This is actual footage from Houston Public Library. This is a man inviting small children he doesn't know to touch his face and shaking his butt and getting them to shake their butts back.

If this were any normally dressed adult man, then parents presumably wouldn't want their kids within 50 feet of him. But because he's wearing loads of make up and a wig, that's fine?!

It makes me so angry that these sort of folks are twisting basic safeguarding principles into some sort of personal infringement ... What the actual fuck.

As a bisexual woman who has come to terms with her sexuality only in the past few years, I am so ashamed and sad that the LGBT and general 'progressive' circles these days are being dominated by fetishes, apologetics for pedophiles and sexual predators, eroding boundaries and safeguards for children, actual homophobia by twisting sexual orientation into 'genital preferences' with lots of good old fashioned sexism and misogyny thrown in.

I really fear that these things will be used by the extreme right and religious fanatics around the world as proof of how depraved LGB people really are and increase persecution and discrimination. Sad

I've been down a bit of a sex-offending drag queens rabbit hole this evening and here is what I have found out about Robert Clothier, the drag queen who was convicted in 2013 for attempting to meet up for sex with what he thought was a paedophile father and two children, but turned out to be a sting operation:

Local paper report says: The 37-year-old, known as Lady James, is known to have been part of the Brighton drag scene for many years and hosted the cabaret tent at Brighton Pride between 2009 and 2011.
