I hope that this is okay to post here? I know that Posie is banned, but I hope I can share this.

Posie has a new podcast featuring Venice Allen and Julia Long. It is all about the trip to America a few weeks back.

You can absolutely share that here, nothing in the rules to say you can’t. Thanks for the link. The men in the background part is a little annoying and makes it hard to listen to though!

PeeGreen · 14/03/2019 22:55

yes it needs higher production values, especially without video the sound needs to be crystal clear.

Terfinator · 14/03/2019 23:03

Yes, the men and their jangly coffee cups are very distracting!

Bit of a metaphor for feminism though? Grin

It sure is OP!

Thanks for linking.

Yeahnahyeah · 14/03/2019 23:54

I couldn't watch it as the sound is so crap. Bugger.

MhairiV · 14/03/2019 23:58

Posie! Get a little clip-on mic. Please :)

TravellingBird · 15/03/2019 08:24

What a childish bitching fest. Reminds me of some of the horrid girls at school. That’s over an hour of my life I’ll never get back. Why not just blog about what they did in Washington and why rather than name calling and personal attacks? Just seems so hypocritical.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 15/03/2019 08:28

What a childish bitching fest. 🙄 because calling women childish isn’t bitchy at all.

FemalePersonator · 15/03/2019 08:33

Reading Travelling's post was several seconds of my life I'll never get back.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 15/03/2019 08:45

FemalePersonator my thoughts exactly

hipsterfun · 15/03/2019 09:41

To be fair, the first 20 minutes was a bit Vicky Pollard and, for those not fully briefed, a bit of a waste of time.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 15/03/2019 10:07

Some good points from first 15 minutes:
Posie saying she isn’t interested in telling any woman what to do or how to spend their time advocating
Also encouraging others to get off social media and take part in direct action.

After a while the background noise isn’t bothering me.

PleaseSpeak · 15/03/2019 10:35

Actually I do think it was a lot of just bad mouthing somebody else who I have know idea who it is. I was waiting to get to some good stuff about her travels and stopped listening in the end because I just didn't know or care about her personal beef with somebody else.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 15/03/2019 10:54

It’s explaining what happened because of the huge amount of attacks and misrepresentations. If you didn’t read Hatchets blog or comments on MN & social media, along with all the others, then it probably won’t interest you. I personally wanted to hear both sides. In that respect it’s very good, and they’re well within their rights to give their side after all the work of them and many other women, was sabotaged and a lot of it ruined completely. It’s fair. It’s also a learning experience for anyone involved in this sort of campaigning.

MiddleAgeRage · 15/03/2019 11:28

Why not just blog about what they did in Washington and why rather than name calling and personal attacks? Just seems so hypocritical.

Knowing the background, I guess this is their 'right to reply'. JH's blog came out right at the start of their trip, at a time when they weren't able to respond fully. It's a shame any of it has to happen but they do deserve a chance to put their version of events forward just as JH did.

hipsterfun · 15/03/2019 11:32

It’s a big ask to present an hour-long piece of content, ostensibly about what they did in the US, and start it with not-quite-that. Quick way to lose viewers and miss the opportunity to get key info across.

LangCleg · 15/03/2019 11:36

That’s over an hour of my life I’ll never get back.

Shall we have a game of guessing how much of the video Travelling actually watched?!

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 15/03/2019 11:37

Well it would be pretty ridiculous to avoid talking about how their plans were sabotaged by misinformation. They did discuss what they did there, they also put out plenty of video at the time. Anyone aware of their visit, would surely expect this to include a response to the numerous attacks and abuse they received, along with the women from Wolf.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 15/03/2019 11:38

LangCleg Yes, lets... 10 minutes? Or am I being too generous?

LangCleg · 15/03/2019 11:45

I was thinking in terms of seconds rather than minutes TBF!

hipsterfun · 15/03/2019 11:58

I did half an hour and I feel the same. Sorry.

JessicaWakefieldSVH · 15/03/2019 12:00

You don’t have to watch it or be sorry. The Vicky Pollard comment is a worthless contribution though. I could say a few things about JH of a similar tone but I don’t because insults aren’t necessary.

hipsterfun · 15/03/2019 12:35

Well it amused me : P

Thanks for your feedback all the same.

LangCleg · 15/03/2019 12:45

I did half an hour and I feel the same. Sorry.

I haven't watched any! LOL! Might do later.

My general position still holds: not adjudicating intra-feminist arguments.
