Has anyone read The Gendered Brain, by Gina Rippon? It looks interesting and I believe she is giving a talk at the University of Leicester on April 3rd. I love the idea that the brain isn't gendered!

Apologies I believe the speaking event is probably an internal event, the book looks good though.

DrMumMum
There was a thread on this book the other week:

I've also seen other positive references to it on other threads. It sounds really good, doesn't it? It's on my To Read list. I heard her talk on the Today programme the other week but I would not have listened so carefully had I not already heard about it here. Thanks Feminism Chat!

I haven’t read it, but a GC woman who has, told me recently that there is an odd short section at the end, lauding how it is now possible to change sex, or words to that effect.

She said it seemed totally contradictory to the rest of the book, and speculates that Rippon was ‘leaned on’ to include that bit.

I believe she is giving a talk at the University of Leicester on April 3rd.

She is also speaking in Glasgow (with Caroline Criado Perez!) at the end of March...
