Trans women and periods

I'm just going to throw it out there - few things make me more angry than reading about trans women and their 'periods'. Now I know I've had them my whole adolescent/adult life and I know plenty about how they work (and how they impact your life when they're not straightforward, god I know about that) but where does this trans period bollocks come from?

Without a uterus or ovaries or eggs or uterine lining or any of that stuff, where does any sort of cycle come from? Do they take oestrogen on an artificial cycle with progesterone or something? Or am I basically affording way too much time and thinking to something which makes zero sense in the first place and should just ignore it altogether? 🤨

Even if there is some element of truth in "sore breasts and dreadful moodswings" I'm still going to be angry anyway, I guess. That's not a period. That's sore boobs and a moodswing.

Help me o wise ones.

Ew. Just ew.

Used San pro. Ugh.

I donate San pro the the red box project for girls who can't afford to buy it so they can go to school during their period.

Maybe TRAs could do that rather than buy San pro and squirt fruit juice on it to fulfil their fetish?

TurboTeddy · 08/03/2019 21:37

OK I believe it now. Just found this. It might be of interest to an entrepreneurial GC feminist.
Yes I am joking. It makes pretty grim reading.

^ There is a whole sub business of selling used tampons, stockings and underwear through mail order. I long suspected that AGP men were among the customers of such items. Some men claim that the hormones in menses and pee affect them. So, women's public washrooms will become more dangerous.

Buddy up and/or back off if you have to. The first thing, Buddy up with another adult woman.

Second, as someone who worked[for the money] as a monitor on fetish boards, get out of there. He is hanging around for the sex rush. I thought stories of intruding on women's spaces was just a made-up fetish, but now, it is being coded into law, especially worded that women must submit to it. He pretty much will force his fetish on anyone that enters.

I find it alarming that he is so open with his kink in a meet up group. Googling the name just brought up porn, sooooooo- this is just his fetish, and he uses transgender laws to access these things. What happened to, "This never happens?"

Should you let an 8 year old go to a public washroom by themselves? Not in this day and age. ^

I'm shuddering like side show Bob! (Simpsons)

ItsAllGoingToBeFine · 08/03/2019 21:46

It's all, please tell me that's not a thing.

If you are sure you want to know...

Ugh.

TurboTeddy · 08/03/2019 21:54

ItsAllThanks for that, 🤢.
Can whoever has the brain bleach please pass it along, I have an emergency here 😂

AnyOldPrion · 08/03/2019 22:15

This made me think of the transwo man in the (un)civil service who was soooooo upset when a woman turned tail and went back out ofthe toilet. Now I’m wondering if there was a reason for being quite so disappointed.

AncientLights · 08/03/2019 22:18

Yes Prion I thought of that too. Can you imagine being forced to share toilets with such disgusting creatures? We'd have to set up our own cameras.

SwearyG · 08/03/2019 22:24

Oh shit am I still supposed to be having periods? I had my malfunctioning uterus removed 2 years ago and aside from ovulation pain on my left side and occasional boob soreness I don’t get any menstual cycle symptoms anymore. Am I womaning wrong?

These fetishistic fuckers need to fuck the fuck off. And stay the fuck off. Women should not have to put up with this shit around them

InionEile · 08/03/2019 22:54

That YouTube video explaining how to simulate a period is like a period fetishist’s wet dream. Young fresh faced girl talking about where she bleeds on the pad etc. /shudder/ It’s sad because her channel is clearly intended to be helpful to young girls getting their periods for the first time but instead it clearly got trolled / hijacked by a fetishist.

A lot of people seem to be naive about this stuff and think it’s genuine attempts to live as a woman by MtF people. Even I had no idea such a fetish existed but this forum has certainly opened my eyes, especially with the case in Canada with the individual who desperately needed waxing services /cough/ and was found to have been indulging a very unsavoury fetish online. Who is now crowdfunding to enter a beauty pageant. They presumably can't wait to get backstage into those changing rooms with all those unsuspecting women.

InionEile · 08/03/2019 23:48

Really, Datun? Ugh. I'm sure the woke types on Twitter will be all over that - 'how stunning and brave!'

Haworthia · 08/03/2019 23:52

Can you imagine a girl or woman tweeting “My period arrives tomorrow. Expect many selfies!”?

My favourite response was “Enjoy your endometrial sloughing”.

andyoldlabour · 09/03/2019 12:30

Transwomen claiming to have periods = APPROPRIATION

HermioneWeasley · 09/03/2019 12:57

Here’s some more fetishisation

When I was a wee nipper of a teenager I had a friend who was gay. Drop dead gorgeous ringer for Brad from Neighbours (showing age...) and not shy about wearing assisting make up either. So far so normal.

He told me that he'd tried the 'beetroot diet' once, which was basically the idea doing the rounds that if you ate nothing but beetroot and laxatives for a day, you would have bright red diarrhoea which would be EXACTLY like having a period.

I didn't ask why at the time, just made polite noises because I couldn't say what I really thought (WHY the FUCK would you WANT cramp!!????).

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/03/2019 15:19

So they think having a period is exactly like shitting yourself with beetroot? 🤔

There’s some really dumb people out there. Ask them if shaving is exactly like drawing ‘stubble’ on your face with a sharpie and scraping it off with a ruler? Or if getting kicked in the nuts is like having your fingers slammed in a drawer?

Prequelle · 09/03/2019 15:22

It's fucking disgusting

It really really pisses me off that they think they have the right to women's issues and experiences. And it's the sheer arrogance that some if them think they know womanhood better than women. I'm also really confused as to what 'feeling' like a woman is, and I'm furious that many years of hard work by feminists is being undone in moments to suit the trans narrative. Now our own gender is being used to attack us.

ineedaknittedhat · 09/03/2019 16:09

They don't experience the monthly hormone fluctuations that women have due to what female hormones are designed to do - prepare the uterus to receive a fertilised egg. The hormones that a trans person takes do none of these things so don't have the same effect.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/03/2019 16:46

It’s all pretend though isnt it.

GeorgeFayne · 09/03/2019 17:23

What to say? I'm so...so...
Horrified, furious, and DONE. I'm just done with this garbage. (These last fetish posts just really pissed me off.)

On the greater subject of hormones and periods: yes, hormones are very powerful. Probably some of the most potent medications used in medicine. They DO have effects on the body. Getting your hands on some thyroxine tablets (thyroid hormone) and taking a high dose will, in fact, give you the same symptoms as someone who is excreting too much because of Graves' disease or malignancy. Does that mean said individual actually HAS Graves' or a pituitary adenoma? No, of course not.

It's absolute bullshit to say that a male can menstruate.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 09/03/2019 17:24

Of course it is. Unless they are just redefining what a period is? Like the word woman?

GeorgeFayne · 09/03/2019 17:26

And furthermore, if I had a patient come in saying they had Graves' disease and discovered their symptoms were due to abuse of thyroid hormone, my first referral wouldn't be to endocrinology...mental health disorder, anyone?

lilabet2 · 09/03/2019 17:29

If trans men start buying tampons and pads will they then get rid of the VAT on these products? If that's the case then I'm all for them pretending!

GeorgeFayne · 09/03/2019 18:04

I can't get off of this. There are plenty of women out there who do not get cramps or mood swings or any PMS symptoms at all. Those symptoms are NOT a period, but rather side effects of changing hormone levels. As mentioned upthread by the most intelligent women of MN, MENSTRUATION is the act of shedding uterine endometrial tissue. No uterus = no period. PERIOD.
