www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6778849/Man-slammed-Twitter-says-girls-stop-whining-price-tampons.html

I don't have a lot of time to comment sorry, but the article basically outlines how a man has managed to calculate that a woman only needs 7 tampons per period and they should stop whining about how expensive it is.

Lovely chap.

Looking forward to the 'why do we have to centre women on international women's day' comments tomorrow.

Along with the usual 'why isn't there an International Men's Day' (Tuesday, 19 November, to preempt that)

Up there with the bloke who thought women should “just hold their period in until they go to the loo”

Well I suppose men should be told they can save on condoms by holding on until they go for a pee. Grin

Reminds me of a few years ago when two lovely men were complaining on radio about mothers day that it centred mums.

LOL. Also sad that with 9 1/2 months to go (enough for those 9 periods for all those women who just put their uterus into hibernation over winter) I am sure there will be more contestants to come.

So man tries to mansplain periods and shows:

  1. Can’t do math;
  2. Can’t read a calendar;
  3. Knows zip about TSS;
  4. Believes we essentially bleed nice blue easily absorbable liquid (I mean, uterine lining could not include anything else, right?)
  5. Thinks we all bleed in nice intervals of 5 ml for a convenient total of 35 ml
  6. That all tampons are alike and work as well as each other (no, some are just shitty at absorbing or preventing leaks or both).

When I had heavier periods (teens, with IUD) I easily soaked a super plus tampon every 2-3 hours for 2-3 days, plus another 3-4 days of changing regulars every 4-6 hours. Then liners for a few days. And yes, I was on iron pills because I was otherwise anemic.

Even now, there is 1 day out of every of my 4-5 day periods that if I don’t empty my 35ml menstrual cup every 2-3 hours I will have a scene like the elevator in the Shining literally on my hands.

I’ve always wondered about the egg cup analogy. Not having sat on an egg cup for a week I have no idea if it is true. Any comers?

HelenaDove · 07/03/2019 19:54

Hey if you are reading this...........i dont do tampons but am perfectly willing to come visit you for a few days next time im on armed with only seven sanitary towels. Of course during my usual heavy bleed i will be sitting on your sofa your bed your dining chairs Up for it?

rocketromano · 07/03/2019 20:44

feminist me too! I don’t know how 35ml can be average for whole period when I’ll easily fill the cup overnight and probably twice more on the heaviest day!
What a twunt that guy is
