Whether we agree with all of it or not, going against the general editorial stance of your own employer is a bloody brave thing to do (especially when you’ll shortly be going off on maternity leave). A lot of the other big GC journos (I’m thinking Turner, Kirkup) know their editors have got their backs. I doubt whether Hadders has that security.
I admire her hugely for putting herself on the line and I’m not going to carp if she pulls her punches. (They may even genuinely be her views - who knows?)
And I have to add - fair play to the Graun for printing it and risking the wrath of their woke US partners.
