OUTstanding survey - engaging LB+ women in LBGT+ employee networks

Women's representation topic.

An LGBT network I'm part of shared a link to this survey which (they think) sets out to analyse why it's hard to find LB women active in LGBT networks. I had a "FINALLY, someone's looking at this" hiccup of joy then looked at the survey form. It's not going to yield any useful data. Myself and another woman in our own network pointed out that it is not helpful. There is however a free-text question at the end so I'm sharing it here in case LB MNers want to offer their thoughts.

More about OUTstanding (some of you will remember the HERoes project which did the FT 100 women in business list last year of Pips Bunce fame, they are both projects of the same parent organisation INvolve): www.out-standing.org/about/

It's seriously irritating how they capitalise the first letters!

Agree that's a rubbish survey.

AssassinatedBeauty · 04/03/2019 18:48

It's so short and asks nothing at all about why there aren't any L or B active in LGBT networks!

Thanks. If you tick self define at the beginning you can also make a statement about your gender (or lack of!)

Forgotthebins · 04/03/2019 20:06

Ah, going through it now (instead of just clicking 'next' to look at the questions in advance) it shows that if you tick yes or no to certain questions you get a sub-set of questions branching off from them. Like "do you have an LGBT network at work", if you then answer yes, there are follow up questions. So it's not quite as bizarrely simplistic as I first thought. Still many gnawing my hand off moments as I remember I need to form a constructive reply that will not get instantly dismissed....

Eriskigal I agree. It has the aura of a very patronising person by a flipchart speaking slowly and loudly while underlining buzzwords with a marker pen.
