Previous thread:

Part 3

And an article written by Bradley's estranged wife:

www.sarahmcculloch.com/statement-jess-bradley/

Provides a lot of background and confirms that Action for Trans Health received a report of sexual assault and a further six reports of sexual misconduct of Jess Bradley.

I strongly suspect in other cases parents break off contact because their child's self-obsessed behaviour is affecting other members of the family or has led them to behave very badly in an unforgivable way. In other cases, I wonder if the child has broken off contact because the parents have not provided the 100% unconditional affirmation of their child's beliefs that the child demanded, but to others this gets spun as 'My family threw me out because I'm trans'.

What has often struck me about this narrative is that parents who would genuinely throw their child out for coming out as trans possibly weren’t good, loving parents in the first place.

Response by TRAs, translobby groups & allies to the Safeguarding & Duty of Care concerns for children of medical professionals has illustrated that many do not understand Safeguarding & Child Protection frameworks.
This has to be considered alongside the failings of NUS, Action For Trans Health, Proud Trust to properly respond to allegations against Jess Bradley.

Are there systemic Safeguarding failures with the trans rights community?

If so, many children & vulnerable adults have been put at risk by those claiming to support & advocate on their behalf.

"Jess Bradley, first transgender student officer, suspended after flashing photos
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6003331/Britains-official-transgender-student-officer-suspended.html

"Shocking images on the site show an individual flashing while sitting in a train carriage, in a public park and at a bus stop.

Another photograph shows male genitals being exposed in an office close to a curved wooden desk that is strikingly similar to a picture of a work desk that Ms Bradley posted on her Facebook page. "

The photo have been archived on archive.is, you can search there under the domain exhbitionizm.tumblr.com and include lots of flashing shots.

Bradley has commented:

" I appreciate at this time there is a lot of speculation about my conduct and I am able to tell you that I am confident that none of my behaviour has been unlawful, and that I have not engaged in sexual activity with anyone, or in the view of anyone, without their consent. "

I believe the allegations about Bradley's alleged inapproriate/abusive conduct towards other members of Action For Trans Health predates the NUS suspension

I don't know if there are dates with regards the allegations with regards Bradley's treatment of members of Proud Trust (Manchester)

It is extraordinary & outside any usual complaints structure/good practice the length of time taken to investigate and conclude such allegations.

Very concerning & asks questions of the charities/organisations Duty of Care.

The blog post quotes ATH on the long overdue investigation into JB, saying that the secrecy and delays have been caused by a number of factors, including:

– a need to ensure the situation was dealt with internally to protect Jess from abuse by TERFs

This reminds me of the Socialist Workers Party scandal back in 2013, in which a number of women who had reportedly been raped or sexually assaulted by a senior party member were made to take part in a kangaroo court in front of other members. Any woman who went to the police was automatically expelled from the party.

As participants said "They [the SWP leadership] are putting the interests of the party above the interests of the women … which I think gives a green light to people to behave in an appalling way to women because there's now been two signals that you'll get away with it."

In ATH's case it seems the allegations against Bradley must be kept secret because revealing the allegations against JB or the findings might make JB look bad. Well, you know, that's what tends to happen when you're revealed as a sexual predator...

ATH, like the SWP, is revealed as misogynist and corrupt.

Rose of Dawn reported recently that Eden Ladley (Jess Bradley's friend) was standing for NUS Trans Officer, the post having being reinstated at conference.
Rose of Dawn thinks Ladley may be running unoppposed.

Interesting to see Mumsnet mentioned on Ladley's promotional material. Ladley's workshop at NUS Women's 2018 'How To Deal With Terfs' was discussed/criticised last year. The thread was associated with MN intern Emma Healey

Warning: do not watch if you are prone to high blood pressure, as it will send it rocketing

I'm not sure what's the worst bit of it TBH: the likening of TERFs to fascists, the fact that this was used for training at the NUS conference, the appalling spelling and grammar, or the downright lies it contains."

No news of any of the three Safeguarding investigations into the allegations against Bradley presumably?

Imagine namechecking "mumsnet" on your student elections promotional material?! That strikes me as deeply uncool, but hey it's a few years since I was a hip young thing .

Also, it doesn't say what Ladley's pronouns are, which seems quite dangerous as it could lead to a literally violent act of misgendering.

Rose of Dawn
@RoseOfDawn
I’ve talked to the NUS Press Office as I’d assumed the Jess Bradley investigation had come to an end.

It hasn’t.

The reason?

It’s a CRIMINAL INVESTIGATION."
