Moves in New Zealand

Read a story that made me feel a bit hopeful for New Zealand. It’s terrible that it is the worst country in the world for domestic violence, but moves seem to be being made. According to the NZ Herald, since the new strangulation law came in, the police have been arresting five attackers a day. This may be baby steps, but I hope it gives women the confidence to think they will be believed and the country can improve.

It will be interesting to follow the comments on their FB page. It is a great bill, but NZ is such a misogynistic place. And woke.

Also what depressing stats for a country of less than five million.

Thanks for putting the link. I suck at things like that. With having family over there, I do worry.

A comforting thought is that in the UK, most women no longer say ‘he hits me, but that’s because he loves me’, as if it is normal.
