For he has taken his sledgehammer approach to the transgender and sport debate.

Usually dubious about Piers, but in this case, good for him.

6.5 million Twitter followers...

I hope he gets his teeth into this one in he same way that he spoke out openly and often for gun control in the US.

hackmum · 25/02/2019 15:16

Fascinating to see the overwhelming support for Piers's tweet. It makes me think more and more that the general public understand the idiocy of what's happening, and it's only a few extremists and their handmaidens who are pushing it.

ShirleyPhallus · 25/02/2019 15:18

Never thought I’d say this but go piers!

howdoyoukeepawaveuponthesand · 25/02/2019 15:19

Piers is a rent-a-gob twat but he speaks the truth on some issues - gun laws in the US being one of them. This is another.

The tide is definitely turning. My whole family and friendship group who refused to talk to me about this when I tried to tell them about all the bad TRA stuff are all of a sudden sharing GC articles and asking MY opinion on things!

The comments are very heartening.

HotCheese · 25/02/2019 15:23

Katie Hopkins is making noise about teaching trans in primary schools.
It’s a strange day when I agree with both of them!

Lottapianos · 25/02/2019 15:24

Piers is the stopped clock that is right twice a day on this issue. See also Nick Ferrari

Extremely heartening to hear that he has had so many supportive replies

feelingverylazytoday · 25/02/2019 15:24

He's in a similar position to Katie Hopkins. He's already hated, so he doesn't need to pander to anyone or be politically correct. He's free to tell the truth as he sees fit. Some of it will be right, some of it will be wrong.

NotTerfNorCis · 25/02/2019 15:28

the general public understand the idiocy of what's happening

But they haven't done anything about it. This is why TRAs hate 'terfs' - because they are the ones actively opposing TRA ideology.

Bufferingkisses · 25/02/2019 15:38

Sad to see so many "They (women) asked for equality now they're complaining" style responses. I'd guess around 20%? Just goes to show feminism has a long way to go even without the GC/Trans debate.

Whatisthisfuckery · 25/02/2019 15:46

Piers is a gobby idiot, incapable of understanding nuance. Fortunately there’s zero nuance required when it comes to males competeing in female sport.

FeedMeBooks · 25/02/2019 15:48

This is still new news to much of the general public. I'll happily admit it's only in the last year that I've moved on from live and let live. Hopefully greater awareness will lead to more questioning and then influencing.

Good, we need more men speaking out on the unfairness regards the sports issue, it cannot go unchallenged.

Misogyny combined with a total lack of critical thinking skills.
Bear in mind many of those will be people who follow Piers Morgan!

failingatlife · 25/02/2019 16:21

I've a bit of a love-hate relationship with Piers but I'm so pleased he is speaking out about this. He does not care one jot what anyone thinks or says about him!

This!!!

OldCrone · 25/02/2019 16:29

I really don't understand this argument. As far as I know, women have never asked for all sporting events to be mixed sex.

RockyFlintstone · 25/02/2019 16:41

Sad to see so many "They (women) asked for equality now they're complaining" style responses.

It's such a hard of thinking argument isn't it?

Knicknackpaddyflak · 25/02/2019 16:56

Love the comment demanding "Where are the feminists?"

(Feminists is this true? Why didn't you tell us?")

Jane's T**f Wars word for word.

OlennasWimple · 25/02/2019 17:02

7891 "like" to that tweet so far....and rising....

I always thought that sport would be the issue to peak trans men

Bufferingkisses · 25/02/2019 17:16

Exactly this.

No women didn't ask for mixed sex sport afaik (although some exist, mostly equine based). It's the same old equality/equity conflation. I know it's PM's following so I shouldn't be surprised. It's just sad to see in such numbers.

feministfairy · 25/02/2019 17:23

Wow - that thread. Good to see so many getting to grips with the obliteration of women in sport
His partner (Celia Walden) writes for the Telegraph and has written some excellent GC pieces.
