Chrysalis is a small local transgender charity with income of ~£28k year.

The Lottery have decided this is not enough and have given a £283k grant.

I was slightly surprised by this and decided to take a look at their recent grants.

In 2018:

£9.8k to Womankind (yes, a women's charity) to 'run a weekly therapeutic group for transgender women '
£10k to EDEN for transgender cinema
£10k to Trans-Staffordshire
£10k to Mermaids
£10k to Chrysalis
£495k (!) to Stonewall to "develop new programmes in partnership with transgender organisations to build the knowledge and skills of trans community leaders. "

Funding for specifically 'L' projects was £0.00 - the L word was only ever used in conjunction with G, B & T (and sometimes Q and/or I)

G is not as well-funded as T, but there were still a number of grants for the exclusive benefit of gay men.

Gay Men's Health Collective - £10k - for gay & bi men
BlackOut UK - £9.4k for black gay, bisexual and transgender men
Gay Mens Wellbeing Project - £45.4k

I dont know how you can object, really. Trans charities are the most oppressed of all charities, and they have a right to all that money. They have almost no influence among the media, or business, or the halls of power, so it's only fair they get as much charity cash as possible to redress the balance.

Lesbian charities are usually awash with c*s-privilege, and they are well represented at all levels, so they don't really need the recognition of support the way trans charities do.

I feel jaded, do I sound jaded? I can't tell.

If they have been getting this kind of money for so long it certainly explains the huge wave of interference...almost entirely at the expense of women and lesbians. Do we know who on the committees is allowing this to happen? Is no one speaking up for women and lesbians?

Jobs for the boys, clearly
