On the one hand it's all 'oh these women are so marginalised, they are in poverty and you want to take away the only source of income they have, you want to deny them employment' and then on the other hands it's 'these women are making a choice about their bodies who are you to take that choice away'. Which is it?

There was a program on last week (I think it was The Big Questions) and there was someone on there saying that sex workers are not charity cases. There seems to be this idea that if you are paying for sex, you are helping these women out of poverty and 'empowering' them or something.
