It led to a break through conversation with a family member who is feminist but firmly believes the 'Guardian says there's nothing to worry about so there's nothing to worry about'. The 'replace gender identity with sexist stereotypes' was a game changer.

That's a really brilliant article. I had never understood why one of my former pro-trans friends had accused me of denying transpeoples' right to exist, as if I was wanting to kill them. Now I get it and now I can just shrug it off.

I'm a lesbian and actually sat on various Stonewall committees back in the noughties. I and most of the other lesbians I know got out years ago. We now regard Stonewall as one of the main sources of our oppression.

(I do know writers need to be paid. I'd be glad to pay Best, he's brilliant. I'd be glad to pay for an article after I've read it and know what I'm buying. But if some web site wants me to put up with smarmy manipulativeness, they need to pay me, not the other way around.)
