A lot of detail

It's making me feel sick. I've been there. Not quite to this level, but I remember that sense of dread when they "turn".

TwistinMyMelon · 20/02/2019 21:36

Two horrible worms of men as well.

Amoregentlemanlikemanner · 20/02/2019 21:36

I think this is important.

Both those women are lucky to be alive. Horrible men.

mooncuplanding · 20/02/2019 21:43

I think the representation is good and is making no excuses for these ‘men’ while giving an honest account of what abused women have to go through

TwistinMyMelon · 20/02/2019 21:46

Fucking idiot

TwistinMyMelon · 20/02/2019 21:47

Disgusting man

Amoregentlemanlikemanner · 20/02/2019 22:02

I agree mooncup.
I don’t remember a programme like it

People need to learn the process of abuse so they can have a chance to recognise it more easily in the earlier stages.

mooncuplanding · 20/02/2019 22:10

Channel 5 surprise me sometimes. This has none of the wanky bias of the BBC (they’ve not felt the need to once say ‘wot about he menz’) the ‘keep it commercial’ of ITV (gloss over it) and the ‘must be edgy’of C4 (must do something that’s really unusual domestic violence) - this is just what it is

They’ve got a programme on after called ‘how to leave an abusive relationship’

Amoregentlemanlikemanner · 20/02/2019 22:17

Really informative

donajimena · 20/02/2019 22:20

I'm 'enjoying' it. I know first hand why people don't leave straight away. I just hope that others learn from this.

Amoregentlemanlikemanner · 20/02/2019 22:24

“What does it feel like being strangled?” asks the interviewer.

OP posts:
mooncuplanding · 20/02/2019 22:32

Those sentences were a disgrace

What do men have to actually do to a woman to get put away for a long time?

One of them had already been in prison for the same offence. Rinse and repeat

TwistinMyMelon · 20/02/2019 22:58

I'm single now and I honestly don't think I ever want to be in a relationship with a man ever again.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 20/02/2019 23:34

I'm single now and I honestly don't think I ever want to be in a relationship with a man ever again.

That’s exactly the same thought I had. There’s just too much risk.

I’m wiping my eyes while the credits rolled on that programme, and I’m seeing men’s names and wondering how many of them that helped create that programme are abusing a woman at home after working on that show during the day. How many of the police officers that deal with victims of male violence are carrying out exactly the same abuse at home?
