We know how twitter works Hmm in regards to women speaking out so perhaps this thread could be a place to gather excellent quotes and pictures for people to spread across other platforms and show that Martina's views are shared not by a trickle of support but a tidal wave.

I'm sorry but I think that all transgender athletes who participate in sports which rely on physical strengths that can't be matched by girls and women are cheats, so Martina has nothing to apologise for.

I forgot to post this link to Professor Alison Heather's talk at the SUFW Conference. She is a Professor in the Physiology Dept of the University of Otago, Dunedin, and explains quite clearly why transgender athletes are at an unfair advantage in women's sports.

Pink has tweeted Martina saying M's one of her sheroes.

It was in response to Martina saying she'd attended a Pink gig, but quite a few people have asked her to reconsider because transphobia blah blah blah and I haven't seen any recanting. I dunno, maybe I'm reaching?

So how do we go forward? First, we all need to realize that there is no perfect solution in which nobody will ever be wronged or disadvantaged. There is no blanket rule that will solve all issues. The objective must be to find policies that make women’s sport as inclusive and fair as practically possible. After all, if everyone were included, women’s sports as we know them would cease to exist. Therefore, any sensible policy must have some exclusions. But which ones? Where do you start and where do you end? Should different sports have different rules governing participation? Should recreational sport be subject to the same rules and standards as professional or Olympic competition? Should there be different rules for high-school sports, different rules for colleges etc?

'Eugenics', 'white supremacists', appropriating the racism the Williams sisters dealt with, comparisons to gay people and black people.

Actually speaking of that, its interesting that no one has rolled out the old 'well black people are better runners but we don't segregate by race' argument. I mean, there is no level that these people won't stoop to get what they want, I'm surprised I haven't seen it yet. Actually scrap that, I have just remembered Boy George did it last week didn't he?
