Firing Martina from Allies is working out to be an own goal as more people stand up and speak out on this.

twitter.com/hashtag/TeamNavratilova?src=hash

We know how twitter works Hmm in regards to women speaking out so perhaps this thread could be a place to gather excellent quotes and pictures for people to spread across other platforms and show that Martina's views are shared not by a trickle of support but a tidal wave.

I feel in need of a very nice #TeamNavratilova picture to put on my fbook, any social media gurus around to advise?

You’ve made an interesting point QuietContraryMary. I will await Zuby’s TRA flaming starting in 3... 2... 1...

I’m sure it will be long and relentless. Perhaps they could recreate the same tactics they used on Alison Moyet.

EweSurname · 26/02/2019 13:58

Sorry, I think I have! There are so many Martina/sports threads I forgot this was the examples of support one.

Here is an example of martina’s grace in refusing to get embroiled in spats (this is possibly off track so apologies if so!)

If you check the comments under Clinton’s tweet, the top rated are all GC and written by “normal” people, not far-right trolls as TRAs would have you believe.

OrchidInTheSun · 26/02/2019 14:16

The Kiwi Farms thread on Charlotte Clymer is quite the eye opener. Perhaps Chelsea should read it.

FeedMeBooks · 26/02/2019 15:20

Zuby has self-declared as stunning and brave GrinGrin. He totally gets it. twitter.com/ZubyMusic/status/1100401328138924032

KnitFastDieWarm · 26/02/2019 15:41

I have a light crush on Zuby now Grin

Haworthia · 26/02/2019 15:42

I know, I’d never heard of him until today and now I’m a fan.

JaneJeffer · 26/02/2019 15:49

He's really enjoying it isn't he? Grin

RockyFlintstone · 26/02/2019 16:04

Zuby has made a really good point there that once again blows the whole thing apart - trans ideology says that we should accept anyone who identifies as a woman, that if someone says they are a woman then they are a woman #nodebate etc. But the entirety of the transwomen in women's sports debate relies on, at the very least, males taking drugs to lower their testosterone. Isnt that terribly.... transphobic? Isn't that saying that you can only be 'woman' enough to compete in women's sports if you have lowered your testosterone?

What do the selfIDers think about that? You know, the ones who are loudly shouting that FPFW are transphobic and a hate group for campaigning against self id? Whilst also apparently loudly shouting that males in sports is fiiiiiine if they have taken drugs to make them womanly enough to compete? Aren't they being transphobic themselves, for believing there is a 'threshold' to being a woman?

I can't even get my head around it! 😂

FemalePersonator · 26/02/2019 16:07

If transwomen are women why do they have to lower their testosterone levels?

Fairenuff · 26/02/2019 16:08

TWAW

Except when they want to compete in women's sports.

Then they need to make alternations to their bodies.

Which are not women enough.

Apart from that they are literally women.

Obviously.

RockyFlintstone · 26/02/2019 16:11

If transwomen are women why do they have to lower their testosterone levels?

This encapsulates everything I was trying to say into one simple question!

EweSurname · 26/02/2019 16:19

Rachel McKinnon thinks transwomen don’t need to reduce their testosterone levels to be able to competen

FromEden · 26/02/2019 16:35

If transwomen are women why do they have to lower their testosterone levels?

Well McKinnon doesn't think that there should be any requirement to lower testosterone levels, it's terribly transphobic to do so apparently. A trans woman having a higher level is just a normal natural advantage, same as having long legs. Females should just try harder to keep up.

RockyFlintstone · 26/02/2019 16:38

Oh is that McKinnon's stance?! Because they always seem to be posting stuff saying that lowering testosterone means they are on a level playing field so I thought they at least had that requirement!!!

I have heard the fucking ridiculous 'well tall people have an advantage in basketball' argument before though.

Melroses · 26/02/2019 16:41

Well McKinnon doesn't think that there should be any requirement to lower testosterone levels,

Wasn't there something uninteligeable about endogenous testosterone not being an advantage, unlike exogenous testosterone, that Rachel was gabbling on about on R4 PM?

Ribosomes · 26/02/2019 16:43

So if McKinnon doesn't think that being Male give any advantage why do they want to cycle in the women's races? Is it because of the opportunity for pink glittery outfits? Or is it because the women tend to cycle less quickly because they are physiologically different to men? Or is it the female soul aura of the competition that McKinnon can't resist?

FemalePersonator · 26/02/2019 16:46

I have heard the fucking ridiculous 'well tall people have an advantage in basketball' argument before though.

You are in for a treat, as here is a new take on it: Boy George, in his infinite wisdom, says that it's the same as skiers living near snow having a natural advantage over those who do not live near snow.

Male physique = living near snow.

Floisme · 26/02/2019 16:50

Even if he turns out to be a here today gone tomorrow kind of ally, the best thing about those Zuby tweets is watching the social justice types try and figure out how to deal with him. They have no idea what to do Grin

FromEden · 26/02/2019 16:52

Boy George, in his infinite wisdom, says that it's the same as skiers living near snow having a natural advantage over those who do not live near snow.

I wonder if boy George would consider a trans man as a sexual partner? I think I know the answer

Popchyk · 26/02/2019 17:14

Those people interested in skiing as a career could always pack up and relocate to near a mountain.

Women can't pack up and be born male.

Lamaha · 26/02/2019 18:32

I'm not much of an adept on Twitter (I hate it and only go there reluctantly) but I am a FB friend of Posie Parker and apparently Martina has tweeted something along the lines of Transwomen are women? I don't know how to get into that account or grab the tweet (old age probably!) But PP and friends are moaning and groaning about it.

HandsOffMyRights · 26/02/2019 19:53

Lam There's a new thread on that

FeedMeBooks · 26/02/2019 19:53

I don't know which post has set people off on FB. Presumably the one that says how does she show she is caring of trans kids? TRA are having a go because US senators are quoting her in the House in a debate about transgender & youth sport.

She is still GC going by this RT 3 hours ago twitter.com/DrDebraSoh/status/1100430147021299712
and said this a bit later twitter.com/Martina/status/1100455222076424192.

She says more to come in the week as part of discussion.

WomaninBoots · 26/02/2019 20:05

So I went and had a look at two running forums I used to frequent to see what people over there are saying about this. Seems an important issue to sports people... nothing. Not a sniff. Which I find really strange. Both places were not backwards about coming forwards when I was on them. A thread on another forum, also not known for mincing words, started and then stopped... with a couple of the more GC posts being edited... almost as if they had been told to edit them.

People are scared to debate this publically. It's really weird and concerning. I guess Twitter is different somehow. I know I haven't posted anything on the other forum because I am identifiable on there...
