Also think the Times’ insistence on ‘trans women’ is a subset of women, used without a definition is a bit confusing for anyone not conversant with these arguments, ie a lot of the public and of the newspaper-reading audience.

It can sounds like they mean to refer to a woman who has trans feelings (may want to become a man).

They should clearly state where relevant eg ‘transwomen = male born people who identify themselves as women, who may or may not hold a legal certificate (GRC) certifying their move into a legalised new identity which is female. Others can’t ask to see this certificate, so it is not a public form of ID like s birth certificate, however.) I think a short explanation would be clearer.

Seems like he listened to that appalling radio 2 piece with the idiot university professor saying sport needs to keep up with the times. Binary is so passé, gender is fluid now. Women can train harder. Yadda yadda

Oh Gaby Logan's tweet is brilliant, made me laugh out loud. Maybe it's because I am a woman, indeed.

I didn't know this, sorry for my ignorance, but Gaby was a gymnast when she was younger. Amazing all these women who have competed at a high level in sport having the same opinion.

Next week I will be writing more on the issues of Transgender women competing in women’s sports etc etc. I want to find solutions, not create problems all the while striving for equality and fairness.
