😮

That takes the 'many a true word' maxim to its extreme! Has it been picked up on twitter?

WunderBlah · 10/02/2019 13:05

That's really funny and sadly true.

Let's get it publicity Grin

PurpleCrowbar · 10/02/2019 13:05

Grin excellent!

terryleather · 10/02/2019 13:07

Cwenthryth · 10/02/2019 13:07

Ha the ‘punchline’ is good and makes a valid point.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 10/02/2019 13:12

It's a really weird cartoon and I don't really get it

The transman has been passing so how can it be discrimination? She isn't sacking him because he's trans, she didn't know

The main message I get is that the women is "hoist by her own petard"?

What am I missing?

FlyingOink · 10/02/2019 13:16

Did you read all the cartoons in order?

Trousering · 10/02/2019 13:17

The man isn't trans. No one can question it though can they, least of all the trans person sacking him.

Cwenthryth · 10/02/2019 13:19

Nothing there’s 4 strips in total to read in the story, click ‘next strip’.

hugoagogo · 10/02/2019 13:28

It's a shame it's not funny.

PetraDelphiki · 10/02/2019 13:40

The woman boss is a TW...

OP posts:
NothingOnTellyAgain · 10/02/2019 13:53

Oh I see

The statement that all white men get sacked in a downturn is bollocks
It's women who are pushed out of the workforce when things get bad

I don't like it sorry

dolorsit · 10/02/2019 14:07

You need to read the series of cartoons, there are four, for it to make sense.

Bowlofbabelfish · 10/02/2019 14:16

The ‘woman’ boss is a TW. It’s a thinly veiled allusion to a certain credit Suisse employee who identifies half the week as a chap and half as a woman

OldCrone · 10/02/2019 14:17

It's women who are pushed out of the workforce when things get bad

Read all four cartoons.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 10/02/2019 14:21

I have read all 4

The comments above are what I think.

Sorry, don't like it.

WunderBlah · 10/02/2019 14:44

It's two men discussing the weaponisation of transideology to their own advantage in the workplace, it's a brilliant study of the crass stupidity that is uberwokeness.

I think it’s saying that blind acceptance of self-identification, combined with conflation of gender and sex, can easily be taken advantage of by the oppressor/advantaged class (in this case a non-trans male) to circumvent measures designed to protect an oppressed/disadvantaged group (in this case transgender people). It is making light of the situation, but it’s the same circumstance that allowed a rapist access to women to sexually assault in prison.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 10/02/2019 15:15

Taken another way

It is a commenting on how white men were the only people who could be treated unfairly
-Only ones who can be sacked with impunity
-ones that are pushed out when things get tough (which is rubbish)

And now finally they are allowed to join the 'protected' groups and not be treated worse than everyone else the whole time

I don't think it says what you think it says

The white men at my old work who were always moaning about how they are the most oppressed group in the workplace (ha!) would like it

Trousering · 10/02/2019 15:18

I agree it's a novel male perspective on the lunacy of identificationism, it's an interesting take on how the manipulation can be manipulated rght back at them.

hackmum · 10/02/2019 15:53

The cartoon would have worked much better if the employee had said he identified as a woman. That would have been much more realistic too.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 10/02/2019 15:56

"I agree it's a novel male perspective on the lunacy of identificationism, it's an interesting take on how the manipulation can be manipulated rght back at them."

But the main group they are essentially saying have had unfair special treatment is women.

OldCrone · 10/02/2019 16:12

It's a good comment on where we end up if anyone can identify as anything and nobody is allowed to challenge them.

WunderBlah · 10/02/2019 16:31

But the main group they are essentially saying have had unfair special treatment is women.

I disagree, the group having unfair special treatment is men who say they are women!
