Did anyone here? University of Portsmouth (I think) uninvited Peter Hitchens as they felt his visit in LGBT month was not desirable. Interviewed pinned down student rep to confirm he would be invited back.

I heard the end of it. He made the point that the principle of freedom of speech had been broken by rescinding the invitation and that he had not yet received the email asking him to return with alternative dates, implying that this was an afterthought.

Aargh autocorrect. Did anyone hear, obviously. Or did anyone here hear?

I thought it was interesting that it wasn’t spelled out what views he had that were objectionable. I wonder why that wasn’t asked?

I was wondering what views had upset the university lgbt group too. I saw that their tweet was going round Twitter last night but that didn’t say. I assumed it was in the bit I missed.

I heard the end of it too and am really curious what his views are!

I've done some googling but the only comments I could find were about people complaining that radio 4 broadcast an argument about whether or not an email had been sent Grin to reimburse him!

Re-invite not reimburse!

"I was wondering what views had upset the university lgbt group too".

Going by past events at Uni's, being right-wing and holding opposing views mean he is a nazi and his merely being on campus is putting their lives at risk.
