Feminism: Sex and gender discussions

Lighthearted - men don't need to be transgender imposters, they can just self declare as a Vicar instead

Just watching the newest Grand Tour with DH featuring Jeremy Clarkson et al. In their 'Conversation Street' section they briefly bought up the transgender issues recently in the news, and mentioned the case (though not by name) with Karen White, and that men self declaring themselves as women may be doing so to get lower insurance premiums as a man has done this in Canada - of course that's a big motivator for this issue Hmm
Clarkson and Hammond did seem to give the impression that this was a bad thing that was happening which I thought was good, though didn't imply the severity of the mentioned case was as horrifying as it is, and then said that instead men considering doing this should just self declare their job title as a Vicar, as they have very low car insurance and they also get to wear a dress Grin

They evened up the male/female premiums in the UK.

Yeah I'm waiting for insurance companies to even up my premiums with those of a less burgled area of town.

I personally identify as man identifying as a woman. Rights protected and still get to be a woman, great! Just as long as I don't have to wear lipstick.

Sex based insurance differentials were outlawed by an EU directive in 2012.
However, women on average still have lower premiums than men, because of the fact that as individuals we still tend to have a lower risk profile because of factors such as mileage and the type of cars we drive, and then at some point your actual driving record will be factored in.

If you want lower premiums, drive sensible cars sensibly. Maybe not a message Clarkson would want to be associated with.Grin
