Pornography targetting children

I’ve just seen this on Jessica Eaton’s twitter.
What the hell is going on, is this for real? After seeing the images of child drag queens etc, it seems as though there is a huge push to normalise sexualising children, including Stonewall wanting to go into Primary schools.

I think that’s called sexual abuse. Angry

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 02/02/2019 16:24

Yes it's being pushed by those in government.

RepealTheGRA · 02/02/2019 16:30

Yes it's being pushed by those in government.

And that has been going on for a long time. That ‘living and growing’ shit, despite having some good messages managed to get some stuff it shouldn’t have in under the radar.

SirVixofVixHall · 02/02/2019 18:54

What is “living and growing” ? Is that sex ed stuff ? We are in Wales and might have different things.

Jesus fucking christ.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 02/02/2019 19:00

What the actual fuck?

SirVixofVixHall · 02/02/2019 19:03

I would have dismissed it as nonsense, but this is Jessica Eaton’s field, she is an amazing woman.

Even if we disregard the complete fuckwittery of this idea and the fact that showing porn to children is abuse...

What parent wants to trawl a porn site to thumb up or down and make a specific selection of "acceptable " porn that their child would enjoy?

What kind of people do even think of these things? How does kids and porn and ways to make it more accessible to them even come together in someone's thoughts?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 02/02/2019 19:28

It's all about the normalisation of porn which has been growing for ages.

You get threads on here sometimes about men watching porn on public transport on tablets and at least one poster always comes on to say why are you looking at what someone else is watching / why are yuor kids looking / keep your nose out.

Younger people I think, see it / have been told to see it as completely normal like watching the news or reading a book about birdspotting.

Some of them have ulterior motives obviously > the ones pushing it and some of the ones who are normalising.

Some think well everyone watches porn like normal standard entertainment so we need porn for kids.

the erosion of boundaries that are in place to protect women / children are being pushed at very very hard at the moment from multiple directions.

We all knwo who gains.

GenderIsAPrison · 02/02/2019 19:30

Can we mass report him on Twitter? Get him banned?!

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 02/02/2019 19:33

They don't care, GenderIsAPrison.

moofolk · 02/02/2019 19:40

This is madness. Essentially it's an admission, by someone who doesn't want to say porn is bad, that porn is bad.

What they are saying is that what passes for mainstream porn is so horrifically violent and misogynistic that we should go back to the good old days when kids found a stash of Penthouse in dad's wardrobe or a video of the plumber coming round and servicing the housewife after a brief chat. Ah the good old days.

FixTheBone · 02/02/2019 19:51

Errm, am I the only person that thinks everyone is taking this tweet out of context?

To me it is someone suggesting a website about pornography to help young people who have been or are affected by it, not suggesting showing porn to children....

and @genderisaprison - it is Her not "him",,,,,

WombOfOnesOwn · 02/02/2019 20:01

Definitely NOT out of context. This is a "kinky" porn worker who is anti-"vanilla" in most contexts, but believes kids should encounter more "traditional" porn before they move on to the BDSM pornography she produces.

You can see her Twitter. She has talked about how she doesn't care that people are discussing this, because it all gets her more views.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 02/02/2019 20:12

@FixTheBone what do you think "content" refers to?

NothingOnTellyAgain · 02/02/2019 20:33

"What they are saying is that what passes for mainstream porn is so horrifically violent and misogynistic that we should go back to the good old days"

I didn't read it like this.

I read it that porn is good and naturally everyone watches it
Children watch it and there's nothing wrong with that
Maybe though they should have some made for them that is more "inclusive" > plenty of "queer" people

To open their minds and to answer any questions.

Would tie in nicely with that existing resource for children & teens wher it's taken as read that porn is a daily fact of life and the content leads from there.

FixTheBone · 02/02/2019 20:55

@yoursarcasmisbdripping

'Content' is literally anything

This forum is content. The whole BBC website is stuffed with content, as is Wikipedia, Facebook and literally the whole Internet.

FixTheBone · 02/02/2019 20:58

Having seen Anna blazes twitter (I don't have twitter) I wouldn't want her educating my kids about porn, or indeed being involved with kids at all.

YourSarcasmIsDripping · 02/02/2019 21:20

@FixTheBone but it's not mumsnet or the bbc or whatever.
"A site or two FOR PORN FOR KIDS".

Parents can monitor content.
Queer and non white content.

It doesn't mean "anything " does it?

traceyracer · 02/02/2019 22:13

was that person trolling or using satire of some sort?

I personally wouldn't take someone who has "blaze" and "420" (cannabis references) in their username too seriously anyway

SirVixofVixHall · 02/02/2019 22:48

I assumed trolling, but as JE has commented I think that is less likely.
I am really shocked by posts about men watching porn on public transport, what has happened to people ? How is your moral compass so skewed that you think that is ok ? Or is it simply hatred of women, much like men flashing?
