Scotland's current prison policy enables male prisoners who identify as women regardless of whether they have GRC to be accomodated in female estate.
The male offender in question is only 18 so won't have a GRC though this may not be relevent anyway

Apparently Fife Council thinks it's okay for the sex offender Dolatowski to be in a women's hostel as "These are women, they weren’t girls.”

It beggars belief!

Asked how Dolatowski could pass a risk assessment to live in a women-only hostel having targeted two girls, a council spokeswoman said: “These are women, they weren’t girls.”

She added that the decision to admit Dolatowski to a female hostel was guided by the National Accommodation Strategy for Sex Offenders, which does not mention transgender people.

The spokeswoman refused to provide the criteria of the risk assessment. It is understood that Dolatowski has now been moved into her own accommodation.

This is such a failure of Safeguarding and critical thinking.

The fact that an 18 year old identifies as transgender is not the relevent issue.

The offender is a male.
The offender was convicted of sexual assault and voyeurism against two females who were children, in a women's toilet.

There is no basis for a male convicted of these crimes to be housed in what should be single sex accomodation for vulnerable females, regardless of age.

I can't imagine how this went through Offender Management discussions. Only that policies created by Trans Rights lobbyists obscured the offender's sex and thus hindered effective risk management.

It is also well recognised that part of predatory paedophile behaviour is that some offenders will target vulnerable single mothers.

This should also be included in risk assessment as is relevent both in Bail Hostels, refuges and female prison estate.

The photo and accompanying facebook message from an organisation alerting people to sex offenders is being widely circulated locally where the offences occurred so she will not be able to hide behind anonymity anymore.

I very much agree she sounds she poses an ongoing danger to women and girls.

Why are their feelings more important than the safety of others eg the women who had to share a hostel with a sex offender.

I agree, there was a thread on Facebook earlier where a man complained that KD was given lenient treatment because she was a woman.

A quick link to the page about her being trans in a womens hostel shocked them.

I recently went to see Nish Kumar, the political comedian at the Dunfermline Alhambra, mainly to listen to him ranting about Brexit, which was funny, however his pro trans rant included a section on how unreasonable it was for women to worry about transwomen behaving badly in women's toilets, tumbleweeds blew through the room. I very nearly heckled but chickened out, sorry 😕
