The Times reports that guidance has been drawn up by the EHRC and the NUS to stop gender critical feminists being barred and no-platformed at universities.

A 51-page set of guidelines also informs students that views that “offend, shock or disturb others” are not grounds to prevent someone expressing them. Concerns have been raised that free speech at universities is being restricted because groups have deemed that some opinions are too offensive to be heard or amount to hate speech.

The guidance says that peaceful protests at events are a healthy part of debate but that they cannot be allowed to stop events taking place, “shut down debate or infringe the rights of others”.

I heard this on Radio 4 this morning and it did sound encouraging.

The final word in the report was that someone had said it couldn't be applied as a blanket policy due to extremists i think.

I think it's encouraging. Looking forward to all these universities allowing WPUK events on their premises.

Also, the statement from GMP. Are we surprised to discover an apprentice was running their Twitter account?

Also, the statement from GMP.

Do you have a link? I deleted my twitter account, so can only see twitter posts via a direct link.

Women having opinions has always been considered beyond the pale by society.

Esp when those opinions are about how women fare in society. And the problems we have.

i watched a prog about Germiane Greer last night they had clips of her when young going up against men on the telly in the 60s. It was amazing. I mean, that just didn't happen then, like that. Still doesn't much TBH.

If the GMP one is about pulling a thread due to offensive comments, I really honestly think they mean the responses to the police tweet, not that their tweet was offensive.
