Tick the other box and enter a little rant about Sex v Gender. If there’s room complain about their changing rooms.

Popchyk · 30/01/2019 19:45

"Associate with" meaning to see or meet people socially?

I tend to associate with both men and women, sometimes boys and girls. Depends really.

Here's my response - not quite all of it...

I would take "associate with" as meaning do I spend more of my time with men or with women too. Clear as mud.

ChewyLouie · 30/01/2019 21:37

They’ve missed out ‘ which biological sex do you want to have access to the lingerie changing rooms?’
Oh hold on, my mistake as biological sex and all it entails isn’t real anymore. My body is just a figment of my imagination, an extension of my gendered soul.

M&S are a company determined to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
The last twenty years of their trading should be put into a business management book called "How to Damage a Successful Business".

jeaux90 · 30/01/2019 23:08

Jean do you mind if I tweet that screen shot from the survey? That is insane

Danaquestionseverything · 30/01/2019 23:39

Incredibly poorly worded survey... Love your response.
Going by this I would have to select male, since I have a husband and 2 sons I live with and associate with numerous times a day. 😖

doubleshotespresso · 30/01/2019 23:52

JeanFinch your response is wonderful....

NibblyPig · 31/01/2019 00:02

If this is produced by a research agency, they are governed by the market research society (MRS). If you Google their sex and gender guidance you'll find a pdf that gives some very troubling guidance including question wording that implies intersex is a 3rd sex.

You can write to them at [email protected]. They are currently consulting on their code of conduct for members, so now is a good time to raise this with them

How are the mighty fallen! My first job at the age of sixteen was working in the M and S store in Maidstone. A very good company to work for.I always go to M and S when I visit Britain to stock up on knickers. The last time I was there (May 2018) the changing rooms were strictly segregated. Has M and S drunk the Koolaid then with regard to the trans agenda?
Which gender do you most associate with, well it varies dear, male today, female tomorrow, isn't English taught properly these days?
Isn't biology taught? I give up.

FlyingOink · 31/01/2019 05:17

NibblyPig that's useful info, thanks

thecompletenonsequitur · 31/01/2019 05:55

As an aside, I saw in the newspaper a few days ago that M&S are in talks with our friends Ocado about food deliveries.

JeanFinch · 31/01/2019 06:42

@jeaux90 Yes that's fine.

The survey company are called InMoment.com and can be emailed at [email protected]

I will take a look at that MRS (ironic acronym?!) site and drop them a line too. Thank you @NibblyPig

I wonder why they are asking? If it is for profiling, then by sex would make most sense I would have thought. Ditto to plan how many changing rooms to have (they could ask directly do you want single sex or unisex changing) But if it is for opinions on clothes they could ask ‘do you buy women’s clothes, men’s clothes or both’?
