Courting the far right is wrong....

OneTimeThing · 26/01/2019 08:12

...if you follow that with a ‘but’ to justify Posie Parker’s courting of the far right, then you are a fascist.

I said I would only post one thing on this board. I kept that promise.

But this is the pits right here. Posie Parker is seeking funding and making deals with white supremacist, crypto fascists, misogynists, homophobes and racists. How does this not show you what your movement is and has always been?

You need to look at yourselves. If your response is anything other than total rejection of posie Parker and all the groups she is involving herself with, then you are just as bad. If you think that trans people/‘trans activists’ are worse than Tommy Robinson, ultra trump supporters and others who spew far right views then you are a racist, sexist, homophobic nightmare. Those labels equally describe what a person is as well as what a person does.

“But what about TRA’s?” Some of you will want to scream at me.

You don’t see Paris Lees going off to get funding from literal fascists. Hell, Caitlin Jenner votes for trump and the global trans community has never and will never forgive her. And either way, none of what “they” do will magically make it okay to go suck up to people that think gay people should be sterilised or that Muslim’s are evil.

Transphobia is revolting. It’s wrong, and it comes as no surprise to hear that transphobia (which most of you peddle right here) will eventually push people towards other kinds of hate.

Take a long hard look at yourselves. I’m a transgender woman, a mum, and I hope at least some of you are seriously thinking about what kind of person you want to be.

Fuck I missed a breakfast thread. And I had 3 today.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/01/2019 10:55

Well I remember that I have some Camp Coffee in my cupboard for making coffee and walnut cake!

I apologise for assuming Verbs and implying I thought it was something of the past.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 10:55

I tried to explain those to non-Brit DH once. He looked deeply suspicious.

OvulaRasa · 26/01/2019 10:56

I also would not trust any TRA to define fascism, since their definition of fascist seems to be "anyone who disagrees with us"

That

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 10:56

"Mum's a fascist because she won't let me smoke in my room or paint the walls black"

merrymouse · 26/01/2019 10:57

How does this not show you what your movement is and has always been?

Doesn't work like.

For comparison, I think Jeremy Corbyn has a worrying tendency to associate with dodgy extremists. However, it does not therefore follow that nationalising the railways is bad. (It might or might not be bad, but has nothing to do with Jeremy Corbyn's dodgy friends).

It does mean that Jeremy Corbyn might be a bad leader. However Posie isn't actually leading any movement and has no official position.

merrymouse · 26/01/2019 11:00

I apologise for assuming Verbs and implying I thought it was something of the past.

No, I think your aggressive use of verbs was literally and violently consigning camp coffee to an inferior position in the line up of store cupboard standbys!!!!

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 11:00

How does this not show you what your movement is and has always been?

Why do TRAs always write like this? Half televangelist and half domestic abuser.

BettyDuMonde · 26/01/2019 11:02

DH arrived home from work at 2am last night and has already gotten up and made me eggs on toast and a BLOODY MARY for breakfast.

He’s also walked the dogs and has now left for big Tesco.

I’m still in bed. I like today.

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/01/2019 11:02

Posie isn't leading anything, she like most of us are all doing our own thing.
I think this is what is so hard for the TRA's to grasp, this isn't something that's being lead it's thousands of people who are concerned about various aspects of an ideology.
There's no leader, there's not even a single direction or goal, just lots of people doing their own thing.

MagicalRealist · 26/01/2019 11:03

OP for what it’s worth, I agree with you regarding Posie Parker and the far right. I do find her behaviour abhorrent and bitterly disappointing.

But it makes no difference to the issue of male bodied individuals accessing female only spaces and putting women and girls at risk of physical harm and voyeurism.

Posie’s questionable ethics don’t magically make this quasi religious belief in gendered brains and wrong bodies either true or harmless.

WrathofRancidKlopp · 26/01/2019 11:03

Posie can sit at any table she chooses.
She is a strong adult woman speaking up.
And she will.

Good for her.

WeRiseUp · 26/01/2019 11:04

Why do TRAs always write like this? Half televangelist and half domestic abuser.

That is so apt.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 11:04

I think the realization that most people don't agree with the basic TRA talking points is too scary for them to take onboard, so we must be recategorised as a mass of sheep being led by a few evil geniuses who they just need to eliminate and then they'll get everything they've ever demanded.

BettyDuMonde · 26/01/2019 11:04

Substitute Terf for Fascist:

Courting the far right is wrong....

I'm happy to meet and discuss with camp coffee representatives as this is just a misunderstanding / typo / hacked account.

BertrandRussell · 26/01/2019 11:10

There are often threads on the feminist boards where women say they have been told that they can’t be feminists if they wear make up or high heels or like clothes and so on. It’s never actual real feminists who’ve told them this crap. It’s the people, like the OP, who police women’s words and thoughts.

WTFIsAGleepglorp · 26/01/2019 11:12

Well I remember that I have some Camp Coffee in my cupboard for making coffee and walnut cake!

What is Camp Coffee?

I remember trying to drink it and it was vile! 🤮

WrathofRancidKlopp · 26/01/2019 11:14

The op isn't coming back because they said they were only going to post once.

And once is quite enough.

Bourbon biscuit anyone?

CaptainKirksSpookyghost · 26/01/2019 11:16

what is camp coffee
I think it was created in the Victorian times as a cheap readily available drain cleaner.
But during the first world war it was sent to the troops who resorted to drinking it in the trenches.

AngryAttackKittens · 26/01/2019 11:18

After watching the Paddington Bear films (bless) DH has decided that he must try marmalade. Which I, the official Brit in the relationship, don't like. Which brand should I tell him to try?

Datun · 26/01/2019 11:19

How does this not show you what your movement is and has always been?

"Why do TRAs always write like this? Half televangelist and half domestic abuser."

That threatening individual Emily thingy also uses the word movement to describe women's sex-based rights that we want to be legally upheld.

As in, I'm going to ruin your movement.

The collective lack of self awareness is pretty spooky.

feministfairy · 26/01/2019 11:19

Well I have had breakfast so maybe it's time for (camp) coffee and a biscuit?
Biscuit

merrymouse · 26/01/2019 11:21

What is Camp Coffee?

It contains sugar, chicory extract and something called 'dried coffee extract'.

merrymouse · 26/01/2019 11:22

That threatening individual Emily thingy also uses the word movement to describe women's sex-based rights that we want to be legally upheld

See also the 'climate change movement'.
