Can someone post an anonymous twitter poll on trans activism?

There are a couple of trans-related Twitter polls going on at the moment and I just realised that Twitter polls are anonymous (sorry if everyone else has known that forever)

I don't speak about this issue on Twitter because I am too afraid. There must be others like me, and it would be good to know how many.

If anyone is openly gender critical on twitter, could they consider posting this or something like it?

Anonymous poll on trans activism: vote "yes" if you think that there are serious problems in trans activism but you are too frightened to talk about it on here. Twitter polls are anonymous, no one can see that you voted or how. Please RT @glinner @Docstockk @giagia @lecanardnoir

The other good thing about this - there is nothing for the TRAs to pile on to to confuse matters. "No" doesn't mean anything, its just collecting numbers of yeses.

I was thinking the very same thing except it will just get brigaded and the numbers diluted by TRAs, as this evening’s polls have. It won’t tell you the number of voters for either option, only how many voted in total and what percentage voted yes or no. I have an idea: do a poll but make both options YES. No NO option. Therefore no one who doesn’t support GC viewpoints can affect numbers by interacting with it, but it’ll give us an safe way to get idea of our own numbers. It would be so heartening to see how many women there are (who otherwise feel silenced from even liking posts)

Oops sorry I misread you! Yes this is a good idea.

I am not a Twitter user, but to be honest looking at the disgusting attitude of that social media, which ignores verbal and actual physical abuse towards women, I think anyone would be wasting their time.
I think it is beyond time to have set up alternative social media networks to combat what we are witnessing.
I am old and grey, but there are folks out there who could do it if they had the motivation.

SheelaNaGiggles · 23/01/2019 22:41

The purpose would be for us to get a sense of how many of us there are on twitter who are too frightened to speak publicly. It would work for that purpose.

KindOfAGeek · 23/01/2019 22:47

Yeah. I won't.

Twitter polls are either self confirming or trolled to be the opposite, and if you're rigged it badly, you get out your sock puppets to claim they voted the wrong way.

Kind of the "RT if you agree" "Like if you don't" posts. Like's don't get RT'd, so the rigging in in the words.

And everyone knows it.

So. No.

SheelaNaGiggles · 23/01/2019 22:47

@glinner did it but I think we need to lose the “No” option or we won’t get any clearer results than earlier. The purpose is to collect numbers of people who feel this way and to do so anonymously. The “no” option is muddying that.

SheelaNaGiggles · 23/01/2019 22:51

There are also people selecting “no” because they are GC but they aren’t afraid to speak out, so we won’t get any idea of how many silenced women there are on twitter with a poll structured like that.

It won’t tell you the number of voters for either option, only how many voted in total and what percentage voted yes or no.

But that's all the infirmation needed to figure out the number who voted 'yes'; the number will be 65% (or whatever %) of the total number of votes. I understand what you mean about the 'no' option muddying the waters, but we will still know how many people voted 'yes'.
