Interesting! Thank you!

Listened to this yesterday afternoon and I thought what she was saying about sex/intimacy and transing children at the 15-20 minute mark was super powerful and reflects my thoughts on the matter perfectly.

Lefthanddown · 14/01/2019 22:20

I also agree with her perspective on transing children. I watched a Jazz Jennings video recently where J's surgeon kept saying we don't know, it's experimental, the fact that J has no sexual feelings from the penis and is likely not to have any once the neo vagina is constructed, due to blockers/cross sex hormones, was glossed over.

It disgusts me that governments, including our own, are promoting and funding this as an option for gender diverse children.

She’s very well spoken and probably makes about a gazillion times more sense talking about this than I ever would.
Comparing what the transgender movement means for transmen and transwomen was interesting.

Brilliant discussion - Posie's directness and clarity of speech, free of this theory and that theory, is welcome. Cut to the chase. And Derrick's shock at finding out that the dictionary definition of woman is considered hate speech in the UK was palpable.

deepwatersolo · 14/01/2019 23:18

I loved the interview. Posie's billboard campaign rocks - a brilliant idea, and she argued it well, again. (I will say that Posie saying her 'direct talk' wasn't 'female' rubbed me the wrong way. Why not say feminine!?! But that is small fry and her over all message stands.) I always enjoy listening to her. Same for Derrick Jensen of 'Queer Theory - Paedophilia Bingo' fame.

womanformallyknownaswoman · 14/01/2019 23:36

And she also used the phrase "woke points" which unless I'm mistaken, I'll lay claim to the original authorship of on here!! Though she didn't use a French accent Xmas Wink

Yes I'll listen to some more of his stuff - I have in the past to a couple of his interviews but for me I get bored/irritated when the discussion is too theoretical eg Butler/Queer or feminist theory - it gets into too detailed a rabbit-hole and either starts to play onto the playing field that the anti-women activists want us on, for their benefit, or just gets too detailed into theory.

Best to keep it simple and concise. Posie's comments on the developmental importance of puberty for boys and girls and leaving that alone plus the dire consequences for those who have it interfered with are points well made and that most can relate to. Her comments re sexuality and intimacy in adulthood are very poignant.

It was so good to listen to two people who weren't interrupting each other all the time.

Purplewithgreenspots · 15/01/2019 02:57

Did he really ask if there are women who don’t wear make up? I think Posie was a bit taken aback by the question.

Iused2BanOptimist · 16/01/2019 10:20

Just listened to this. It's a really enjoyable chat which explains a lot of why we are where we are, in the UK at least.
Well done Posie. Looking forward to the week of action at the end of the month.

tellmewhenthespaceshiplands · 16/01/2019 14:32

Just listened too. It was good to hear a really in depth conversation and like womanformally I also found the part about the impact of transing kids on their sexuality really quite sad. If we're not careful we're going to have some very troubled young adults coming through the other side of this in years to come.

Posie truly is awesome and terrifying in equal measures and I can't wait to hear about her US trip and the waves she will make over there. 👏

Freespeecher · 16/01/2019 15:06

She's going to the US? Hope she goes on the Rubin Report or the Joe Rogan Show.

applestrudels · 16/01/2019 17:14

What a star, I love how direct and no-nonsense she is.
