Comments appear not to be buying this fairytale.

Born a girl
Has uterus
Gets pregnant
Has baby
Ain’t no man then...

(And newsflash - Having a baby is hard? Boo boo get a grip on reality old chap)

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 07:33

Gets pregnant by donor - so not exactly an accident.
Gives baby girl a girly name (how very presumptive!)
And this is what passes as ‘news’

How a man? All the womanly bodily functions seem to be working ok. Had breasts removed (men don’t need to do that).

TheOnlyLivingBoyInNewCross · 10/01/2019 07:45

Despite the Orwellian nightmare that those articles represent, I find a sort of hysterical laughter building as I read them because of the straight-faced way that the story is reported - as if the reporter believes, and expects all the readers to believe, that a biological man has actually given birth, not a person with a fully functioning uterus, etc. Which of course is not news at all.

Racecardriver · 10/01/2019 07:49

Random person states the obvious. Brilliant news story.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 07:50

I am working seeing if we are giving young girls the wrong messages about life love and sexuality.

I stupidly read a news story this morning of 2 11 year old girls (in the states) who committed suicide after ‘coming out’. I’m pretty sleep deprived this morning but was almost crying into my coffee. The girls decided they were gay - and were bullied at school (but then a lot of kids are for all sorts of reasons). 11. I was playing with my dollies at 11, not worrying about adult issues and sexuality or love. Are kids growing up too fast? But then I also read a story of a woman who was abused and raped as a child - pregnant at 11 and married off. She was born in 1960!!!!! 1960 not 1860. God what a world.

I’m off for more coffee...

AncientLights · 10/01/2019 07:51

'Fell pregnant' does have an air of chance or error about it, but this person set about it quite intentionally so I'd def question that phraseology. Yes and well done, being pregnant, giving birth and looking after a child is bloody hard as countless millions of women before could have attested.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 08:07

It’s like the old ‘joke’ about how a woman who cooks really well is a good cook but a man is a chef.

I wonder what their parenting decisions will be.

"It’s like the old ‘joke’ about how a woman who cooks really well is a good cook but a man is a chef."

Here are some of the best female chefs in London for you.

What a massive wanker! Honestly what was this person thinking would happen.

SamStephens · 10/01/2019 08:22

Aside from all the things that make me uncomfortable with this whole saga is that he (she?) was born “Paige” and then had a daughter who he named.. Paige!!

R0wantrees · 10/01/2019 08:27

Hayden was interviewed on GMB Lorraine yesterday.
Hayden did not 'fall pregnant', as he had been 'battling' with the NHS for his eggs to be harvested and frozen.

In the interview with Lorraine, Hayden indicated that previously his expectation had been to use a surrogate mother to 'supply' a child. When NHS refused Hayden sought out sperm donation and decided to carry & give birth to his child. He became pregnant and gave birth to a baby girl.

Hayden talked about how much he had wanted a biological child & how good life is now with his daughter.

The timing of this 'catch up' interview coincides with the announcement that NHS will now provide fertility treatments for people who are transgender in situations such as Hayden's.
BBC segment from New Year's Eve

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/3465629-the-bbc-have-just-peak-transed-the-nation

Hayden seems a very happy parent with a lovely little daughter and is clearly pleased that his relationship with his Mum has improved.
Hayden isn't a man nor was he a 'pregnant man' though clearly has dsyphoria/intense want to be seen as male in most situations. Hayden is a transman

Only a woman (adult human female) has eggs that can be harvested and frozen, or fertilised by a sperm, become pregnant, 'grow' a baby in her uterus and give birth.

The media and trans lobby groups are using vulnerable young people. Language matters and collusion/ affirmation is not a neutral act.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 08:28

As I said - an old joke (1979s) - as in ‘dad made some toast and now he’s a chef’.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 08:30

Anyone listening to R4 now? I missed the beginning and can only hear ‘nay nay nya, ban him/sack him from the uni because I don’t like what he’s saying waaaahhhhhhhhhh’. What’s all that about then?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 08:34

If you can replay it, please do. The whinger is a twit - thinks he/she/they (not sure as I misssed the start) is a philosophical heavyweight but would definately lose a debate with my six year old niece.

Almost cheered me up this morning.

R0wantrees · 10/01/2019 08:34

Yes just listening. Oxford highlighted for being especially anti-free speech.
The student is not doing well outside the bubble.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 08:36

It was funny. Such a lightweight. Who volunteered him (and he will be getting paid for his contribution)?

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/01/2019 08:38

Classic was where the interviewer asked him why he was complaining about pieces written going back to 1994 and dodo said (indignantly) ‘and as recently as 2007’ interviewer sighs ‘that was a reprint...’. 😆

hackmum · 10/01/2019 08:41

I heard the beginning and end of that debate. I was astonished, because I though Oxford students were renowned for their polish and fluency and ability to make an argument. The poor guy was desperately inarticulate. My suspicion is he didn't really believe what he was saying.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 10/01/2019 08:45

Baby trinity leigh dressed in pink in both the pics.

Right.

Confused but maybe not. Stereotypes and enforced gender role from birth are awesome.

NothingOnTellyAgain · 10/01/2019 08:47

This person expected the NHS to provide a surrogate?

Wow fucking hell just wow.

R0wantrees · 10/01/2019 08:52

The poor guy was desperately inarticulate. My suspicion is he didn't really believe what he was saying.

I think he was more that he was being effectively interviewed and challenged.

He sounds very immature in his thinking though.

hackmum · 10/01/2019 08:54

If you read the article, it says he gave birth by caesarean section. So it wasn't the birth he found painful but the process of being pregnant while identifying as male.
