There has been a report from the US published showing that women are forced into pregnancy
^Up to three in 10 women seeking family planning healthcare in the United States have suffered coercive control over their reproductive choices, researchers said on Monday.
Women experienced abuse ranging from pressure over reproductive choices to deliberate sabotage of contraception to threats of violence if they did not comply, a review of studies in the journal “BMJ Sexual & Reproductive Health” found.
“It’s something that I think is still a bit unrecognised,” lead author Professor Sam Rowlands told the Thomson Reuters Foundation. ^

There is a suggestion that the UK should take this into account when providing services to women:
^Experts have called for health professionals to screen for coercive control in the UK after a study suggested a quarter of US women were subject to control or coercion over their reproductive lives.
Professionals should be alert to its possibility when they see women who persistently fail to use contraception, make frequent requests for emergency contraception, and pregnancy or STI testing.
Where women say they are being controlled, professionals may advise them on "concealable" methods of contraception.
It also recommends that women who attend services with an escort are seen alone "so that these sensitive issues can be raised".^
