Any suggestions gratefully received.

Feminist Current have some great podcasts, and Meghan Murphy is starting a YouTube channel. (Its usually easy to download just the sound file)

The Gulity Feminist thinks TWAW so I avoid.

Fantasisa · 04/01/2019 13:50

Standard Issue podcast is ace!

I like feminist current / Meghan as she’s a great writer but I can’t really say she’s the best interviewer. However many of her guests are excellent communicators. So overall it’s hit and miss.

As an American I started listening to bbc women’s hour after the series on gender ID and have been quite impressed.

Invisibilia is a good American podcast hosted and written primarily by women. It’s not specifically about feminism its more focused on social science and behavior human interest stories. They have had a story about a detransitioner which could indicate at least they are not 100% On board with trans activism.

Personally I'd avoid The Guilty Feminist after this debacle

I'd avoid the Guilty Feminist too, but another upvote for Feminist Current.

Off to have a look at DJLippy's recommendation ...

SaskiaRembrandtWasFramed · 05/01/2019 08:41

DJLippy, I'm trying to subscribe to your podcast but my app isn't finding it - do you have a rss feed I can add?

redexpat · 05/01/2019 13:36

TGF has had a trans guest on twice, including the most recent episode, but I just dont think they make a particularly good guest. Twice I think they've had men on, and they weren't great either.

I know what you all mean, but the trans thing doesnt pop up all that much in the show, so I feel I can just ignore it when it does. I will check out some of the others mentioned on this thread.

DJLippy · 06/01/2019 15:17

Unfortunately we are just on soundcloud atm but you should be able to subscribe from there. You can follow us on a twitter if you want to now when we have a new episode coming out makemorenoise1

WLRN are quite good.

Beerflavourednipples · 06/01/2019 16:36

Yeah, definitely not The Guilty Feminist!

LivingInLaputa · 21/08/2019 13:20

Just bumping this in case there are any more recommendations, as I’m trying podcasts for the first time. Will definitely listen to feminist current first!

DJLippy · 21/08/2019 13:35

This is very good

DancelikeEmmaGoldman · 21/08/2019 13:37

These are in my podcast app.

Julia Gillard’s A Podcast of One’s Own.

Mothers of Invention

actual feminism presents

Women’s Liberation Radio News

Feminist Folklore

I enjoy The Guilty Feminist. It frequently has brilliant guests so I often just skip the bits which really annoy me. The episode with Effie was a wonderful piece of listening.

spinninghag · 22/08/2019 10:29

I love Feminist Current. I used to listen to the Guilty Feminist, but really can't anymore.

Also quite like the Filia podcasts - the one about the Lesbian Strength March is my favourite.
