Now gone a step further, and allow to self ID as gender diverse. The first country to do this (according to BBC news)

This is clear in the Stokowski comment where she thinks it's terrible that doctors should be involved in determining what Geschlecht someone is.

I sometimes wonder if the discussion where different if more Germans/Austrians would read English blogs/websites/media more. I know lots speak English very well but I always got some complaints when I linked to something in English on the German parenting site, even if it was some scientific publication (which are published in English, it's just how it is). Most of the identity politics stuff in the anglosphere goes unnoticed by many Germans. I had discussion about women's sport at a family wedding in October, sport is a huge thing in my family, and they all refused to believe me men are already competing with women.

Maybe. The different language around it (sex and gender being both 'Geschlecht'; the natural detachment of pronoun gender from sex in German...) make the conceptualization harder, I guess.
It doesn't even seem to be a topic among politicians, certainly none that has such sweeping establishment support as in the anglosphere. Politics seem only to conceed what lawfare forces them to.

But at latest when an Austrian female skier gets beaten by some transwoman from the UK or Australia, every single Austrian will know what's up. ;-)

t the apologist attitude among many Greens when it comes to violence against women and misogyny in certain cultural contexts is indeed a covert form of racism. Neither do the victimized women from these cultures count nor is the idea entertained that violent men from the respective cultures are capable of taking full responsibility for their actions.

I think this is true. There was a case recently here in Sweden where almost every foreign/foreign origin girl in a primary class was found to have undergone fgm.

No one publically prosecuted, much talk in the media about tolerance of culture. But if even one little blonde white girl had been mutilated like that social would be in like a shot. The implication is that little brown girls aren’t important. It is racism. And cowardice.

And of course everybody knows this but you’re not allowed to say it. and that’s why the SD polled 17% at the elections recently (SD are of Nazi origin - they’ve ‘cleaned up’ their act and look professional but everyone knows who they stand for.)

There is going to be a right wing backlash to this. Not centre right, mainstream, Tory type, normal politics - genuine right wing.

I can well believe this. I was on a train recently and the school kids a few seats away were chatting quite casually about the cosmetic surgery they wanted. Body modification is becoming the norm. Some people get tattoos and piercings, some will get boob jobs, some will get various electronic devices implanted. Some will "change sex", others will change into lizards or pandas. Imagine the trillions to be made from all that.
