I'm just sharing this here as I thought this was extremely interesting for a range of reasons.

I feel this could be a very good thing; obviously we have had many discussions here regarding cross overs with gender non conformity and autism and I know

Arse; butter fingers.

I know some of you are politically active and also in London Grin (I'm not.)

Just in case it's of any interest to anyone.

Though I'd like to know what this is:

Appendix on A.B.A

as I'm personally not a fan of ABA and neither are any of the professionals I work with.

This is the message as communicated to Autism Uk fb page:

*Some information for our followers who are Labour Party supporters from Annie Morris:

Following on from the successful development of a Labour Party Autism / Neurodiversity Manifesto, and in response to calls from many Labour members, we are setting up a new society within the Labour Party, Neurodivergent Labour.

All Labour Party members who are Neurodivergent are welcome to attend the launch meeting of Neurodivergent Labour. This new organisation aims to represent Autistic, Dyslexic, Dyspraxic and Dyscalculic people, and people with ADD (with or without Hyperactivity), Tourette's or other developmental atypical neurological conditions.

We aim for this society to be democratically run by neurodivergent people for neurodivergent people, to make our voices heard in the Labour Party and wider society. During this meeting we will agree on the main principles and structure of this organisation, in preparation for a founding AGM later in 2019.

Booking: You will need to book via Eventbrite to attend this event. Entry is by ticket only. Please use this link www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/neurodivergent-labour-launch-event-tickets-54044961936

When booking, please let us know of any accessibility needs you have.

The Diskus conference room is in the basement of the Unite building, with access via a lift and accessible lavatories on ground floor.*

Thought this was about maternity services... oh well.

Neurotrash · 28/12/2018 21:32

Yes that would be good. Sadly not sorry.

But possibly this ark of the Labour Party might look at things like that?

I'm not in labour.

I also thought this was about giving birth and was quite excited as my experience of labour was different to everyone I knew (mostly neurotypicals). Sorry op Grin

The reality will be that it will be run by high functioning Autistic People (formerly known as Aspergers) for high functioning Autistic People.

Neurotrash · 28/12/2018 21:41

True. I'm not sure who is being invited to speak beyond the attached.

I've been doing some exploring actually. There's already a call for trans identifying people with autism to join.

In some ways such an organisation could be excellent, in other ways open to manipulation or very polarised.

Emma campaigns against those awful people who advocate for curing autism with force feeding children bleach.

Sorry that's a past event.
