Not sure if this has been added already? It's good to see coordinated push back from professionals and academics twitter.com/stellaomalley3/status/1076819244183154688?s=09

Ah. I don't think I'm doing it right. Check out @stellaomalley3’s Tweet: twitter.com/stellaomalley3/status/1076819244183154688?s=09

I will be intrigued to see the outcome of this.

I bet they have seen enough to know that actually we are all right about this. But there's no way of dealing with this without the while ideology being questioned to the point the whole thing comes crashing down.

But

Too many people invested in. Too many big names and big companies involved. That at the same time the truth cant be told.

Honestly I think everyone will just stay silent and hope everyone forgets

Ampersandcolon · 24/12/2018 11:16

I think this is the year the mindset will change. People will start talking about how a child can move beyond gender dysphoria and how gender dysphoria doesn't automatically mean trans. If those 2 facts alone became common knowledge everything else will follow.

I think the mindset has already changed.

It's just a criminal offence now to go against it

Mumfun · 24/12/2018 11:23

Yes also wondering how it will play out.

I would like to see media articles on what money is being paid to who. Like how many Labour MPs have accepted payments and what trips they have done. How much is being paid to Stonewall? How much to other trans organisations? It would be good for it to all get real scrutiny.

It almost seems too big to fail I agree but the general population is starting to find out. And most that I have talked too are horrified! Perhaps if the Brexit thing dies down in some way after March 2019 this will become a new hot topic. I do hope so. It might be that the country is facing a worse financial situation so all spending should be more carefully scrutinised and I hope this is part of that!

Stella was behind this documentary and is also on mn (somewhere!)

I'm so glad about the letter and coming together of academics on this.

Too many unqualified and unprofessional people have been having free reign with this for too long.

Gileswithachainsaw · 24/12/2018 11:28

I wrote to my mp a while back. No response.

I really do think now it's just going to be kept quiet.

What I would Now like to see is it becoming more public about the involvement with the police.

If some how everyone became aware that if you step out of turn that the police will come to your door I think that would be the tipping point

Ampersandcolon · 24/12/2018 12:18

I don't really think it's going to be kept quiet. People seem to feel a bit hoodwinked. There is sth very insidious about going into schools a and spreading ideology

Yes. I have listened to the recording and read the transcripts. I do not understand how people smart enough to teach can not see through what is clearly nonsense.

She says at the end replace gender with another end with another protected characteristic.

If like to see these people do that. Replace talking about gender identity to the teachers with say talking about sexual abuse or rape or coersion and see of staying quiet and keeping that secret still seems like a good idea..

TimeLady · 24/12/2018 13:02

I'd like an investigation into the finances of all these groups too. How much of these grants go on salaries and admin?

As Paris Lees said in The Times just three weeks ago:

“I’ve become a professional trans person on the circuit — there is a circuit, you can make money from it."

It's all too easy for lobby groups (of any persuasion) to become a job creation scheme.

Ampersandcolon · 24/12/2018 18:00

Nail on the head @TimeLady there are a whole ile whack of people making money from the trans industry

Neurotrash · 24/12/2018 22:14

It recently occurred to me that famous trans people won't regret transitioning as that's their usp.

Eg India. Probably more well known now than before.
