Following on from the alacrity with which HM constabulary rush to do the bidding of Dr Haddock, here are a couple of tweets by Mermaids Gender showing how cosy their relationship is.

Right. Found it :)

There is a post ages back that says that in her TED talk susie green notes that a key member of the West Yorkshire police was her child’s ‘best friend’ during the time they were transitioning.

There’s your link.

Hello lovely reading journalists! fancy taking a wee look at that?

Bowlofbabelfish · 16/12/2018 20:04

Sorry, key member of the west York’s police hate crime unit.

How very interesting.

Where are the other threats about Mermaids and Big lottery?

I'd love the police to come to my house and question me about my gender critical stance, especially when it comes to Mermaids . So far nothing has happened.

Cheshire Police are either so far behind or ignoring this shite.

Who polices the police?

EM Pankhurst Twitter thread @ Mermaids mentions Savile and the parties for police:

Who polices the police?

You would be hard-pressed to find an organisation that is more accountable than the UK police service. As well as internal monitoring by line managers and specialist 'discipline' investigators, you'd be hard-pressed to find another set of workers that is routinely recorded, CCTV'd, tracked online and in real time, wearing body cams.

There is a code of conduct to which every police officer must adhere or face the consequences via Chief Officers and the courts.

And then there are layers upon layers of independent scrutineers like:

  1. Her Majesty's Inspector of Constabulary
  2. The Independent Office for Police Conduct
  3. The Minister for Policing, Nick Nurd MP
  4. The Local Authority - holding the Chief Officer to account
  5. Crown Prosecution Service
  6. The Association of Police and Crime Commissioners
  7. The Home Secretary
  8. The Justice Secretary

There are public meetings where officers answer to local communities, and queries from the local and national media are responded to promptly by every police force.

The fact that an MP can raise a question about a police individual, operation or process with the Home Secretary in the House of Commons gives you a flavour of how unrelenting and all-encompassing are the methods to 'police the police'.
