Really enjoyed this, thank you Glinner.

Also very cheered-up to realise that Deep Green Resistance are right there with us, and have been for years.

I listened to this today. I'm quite partial to the dulcet tones of a lilting Irish accent. Have heard most of the arguments put forth before, so really nothing new. Hopefully it helps to reach a new audience.

What I did find interesting was beside the usual suspects trying to shut him down was Graham's friends asking him to stop/step back. The friends are coming from a place of concern, they need to look into themselves as why this topic is such a concern. Their answer should give them pause. Knowing this has increased my respect. Thanks Graham you're a good bloke. 👍🏻

I know (from long and wearing experience) that there's no correlation at all between having a prominent public position and intelligence but even so, Riley's really not the sharpest, is she? The idea that you can threaten libel for something that (a) has been reported unchallenged, for years, in much more prominent places than someone's twitter feed and (b) is a matter of public record is quite amazing. A classic 'Arkell v Pressdram' case.

Glinner, completely agree with you about the comparison with the 1930s. Not because (and obviously you're not saying that) TRAs are nazis, but because TRA ideology is totalising - alternative thought is not to be tolerated, dissent is understood as an existential threat and is therefore to be disciplined through threats and violence.

BlueAndWhiteTunica · 12/12/2018 15:09

@Glinner, you are a gem. Thank you. Thank you.

Hooray for Deep Green Resistance!

Flowers Glinner

It feels so nice to hear these words out loud. It makes a difference.

rightreckoner · 12/12/2018 18:08

@glinner I have listened all the way through now and it's lovely to hear two men talking properly about why they care about this. Just absolutely lovely.

Also, I do know how lonely you must feel. But. I take comfort from the fact that scales do fall from people's eyes in one direction only. Nobody starts as a GC person and ends up a handmaiden to the TRAs. But people are starting to move from a position of benign but inactive support for the Stonewall position to a position of scepticism. That journey literally only goes one way.

More and more people are saying stuff and I listed a few better known names on a thread yesterday of people who had sent their congrats to Janice for her award. Nobody manning the barricades yet but still, offering congratulations when they didn't have to.

It's true that there isn't an avalanche yet - but it is growing.

And you've been absolutely central to that shift. So thank you. And do please know that I am writing letters and getting shitty responses back from people like Aviva. But I will write again. And again. And again. So bon courage. And thank you. And thank you to all the brilliant women on the FWR board. And Jonny Best. And Jane Clare Jones, and Julie Bindel. and Kathleen Stock. And so many others who are chipping away, being clever and right.

Bienchen · 12/12/2018 20:12

Massive thanks to Glinner, brave and noble, hope more people will line up to the cult-like activities of the TRAs.

Like so much else, the word ally has been yoinked by the TAs, but here we see its true meaning.

Thanks, Graham and Derrick Flowers

Great bunch pair of lads Smile

sackrifice · 13/12/2018 21:25

Thanks both.

It really is fucking insane isn't it?

Threewheeler1 · 14/12/2018 11:35

That was excellent.
Thanks to Graham and Derrick Flowers
Sad to hear that Glinner feels lonely, but entirely understandable.
Makes his standing up to the shit all the braver.

And yes, hearing an uninterrupted conversation about it does highlight the absolute insanity.

OnTheDarkSideOfTheSpoon · 14/12/2018 12:47

There was a recent Twitter thread about trans people and nazis
