Well done, Janice. Richly deserved.

Janice said: “When you write about really difficult and toxic subjects it really helps to have your newspaper behind you and I just want to thank the Times... who have been completely behind me in dealing with something that is complicated. I have a privilege in being able to write about this difficult subject, which is not something women in universities have at the moment, and I urge that we debate this more thoroughly and freely.”

Apologies. Having pressed refresh, I see I had the wrong awards.

feministfairy · 10/12/2018 23:10

Excellent news. Janice has consistently reported this emerging scandal and she and the other excellent Times journalists have been at the forefront of blowing the lid off #nodebate.

NotTerfNorCis · 10/12/2018 23:19

Well done Janice!

Datun · 10/12/2018 23:54

Did Janice sue that individual for those lies?

That's great news. Well done Janice and well done The Times for backing her up. Watch and learn, The Guardian, watch and learn.

rightreckoner · 11/12/2018 07:34

@MNHQ could there be a webchat?

HamiltonCork · 11/12/2018 07:37

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 11/12/2018 07:41

Oh yes @MNHQ a webchat would be an amazing idea

TanteRose · 11/12/2018 07:42

Flowers Smile

Katvonblackdeath · 11/12/2018 07:43

I think she is very brave and has written clearly and truthfully on this.
The Monitors HATE that she couldn't be silenced. They are all over twitter flapping and shrieking. Usual suspects.

BernardBlacksWineIcelolly · 11/12/2018 07:45

I've started a thread in site stuff (is that how you suggest a web chat?)

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/site_stuff/3448322-Web-chat-with-Janice-Turner?watched=1

Datun · 11/12/2018 08:00

Just in case Janice is reading this.

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/3446753-ian-huntley-this-is-wrong

Ian Huntley now identifying as a woman called Nicola (his victim's mother).

A poster has suggested:

Why isn’t a journalist speaking to women in prison and ex inmates about their experiences with TW in prison?

Because this madness has to stop.

AngelinaNeurosurgeon · 11/12/2018 08:06

Well done to Janice Turner.
Does she have her column on a particular day of the week, in which case I might be tempted to buy the paper on that day?

On a separate note this thread made me look up Melanie Philips, who seems to have positioned herself as the quasi- intellectual cousin of Katie Hopkins. What an awful person, I'm disappointed and surprised to see that she is married to Joshua Rosenberg ( or rather, that he is married to her).

TorchesTorches · 11/12/2018 08:18

I came on here to say about her winning the award and see I was beaten to it. Congratulations Janice! (flowers)
