"
❤️Jane Austen was a Super Plus fan, Lizzie preferred a Mooncup + Emma didn't leave Hartfield without her Thinx. But some bleeders in the UK can't afford sanitary products, imagine the scandal at the ball!💃🏽 Donate to @bloodygood__ this Festive Period & help someone's #flowhoho❣️"

Very disappointing. I can't believe we are back in the Middle Ages so comprehensively.
And no, using 'bleeder' is not "more inclusive" because it includes trans men. It is massively, massively reducing women to a (distasteful and historically considered 'impure') bodily function.

Can I start referring to men as "standuppissers"?

Because they are an arse?

Melamin · 11/12/2018 20:07

At least the food bank understand a bit about human dignity.

Popchyk · 11/12/2018 20:08

It gave me a right good laugh, I must say.

Christ only knows what kind of exhibits will be there if this museum ever gets off the ground. Which it never will of course.

Presumably there will be a gallery devoted to lady penis which is of course a vagina.

These Community Interest Companies and associated projects often seem to have loads of board members (dozens usually), despite not actually errmm doing anything.

ChewyLouie · 11/12/2018 20:16

Vagina museum - sounds like something from a trans future. A museum to visit on a rainy afternoon to learn about those female body parts from the past - vaginas. Gosh, they used to bleed and give birth from them too. It will be so much better in the brave new world with surgically created holes. The ‘holes’ exclude women? Tough.
Guess, there won’t ever be a need for a dick museum, there’ll always be plenty of those around.

SunsetBeetch · 11/12/2018 20:17

As if people in the most need have the headspace to give to 'inclusive' language.

littlbrowndog · 11/12/2018 20:43

So if there was a cock museum erm. What and how could they be trans inclusive
Just thinking
Though me auto correct said inches instead of inclusive 😂😂

Notevenmyrealname · 11/12/2018 20:51

There is no good word for the whole anatomy that isn't trans-exclusionary (e.g. female reproductive system)

What???

ChewyLouie · 11/12/2018 20:53

Ladycock although some would say the idea of ladycock is poppycock Smile.

SirVixofVixHall · 11/12/2018 20:56

Someone who is very , very keen to please the menz and deny women their own biology working for an org like this is surely all part of the land grab.
Unbelievably depressing to see women shoring up this crap and coming out with comments about vibrators just like a bloke.
I wonder how old she is and if she has children ? Because motherhood tends to shift the perspective somewhat.

welshgendercrit · 11/12/2018 21:00

Having seen the screenshot of the Twitter exchange by Gaby I went to look for it on Twitter to read the rest, only to find that I'm blocked. Since I have never interacted with her and indeed had never even heard of her before all this blew up yesterday the only conclusion I can draw is that the delightful Gaby uses Terfblocker. No way will her charity or any organisation that contributes to it be getting a penny of my hard-earned money. Angry

HestiaParthenos · 11/12/2018 21:13

The only cock museum I'd ever go to would be one that is about male chickens. Wink

Does that mean radical feminists can't even see her site, and therefore not even accidentally donate to her uncharitable "charity"?

That's great!

It is like a forum where all the trolls make sure sensible people can't read their posts.

Perhaps I am naive, but I don't see any downside to this?

Do you know how to get on the blocklist for this Terfblocker thing?

OhFlipMama · 11/12/2018 21:16

I rarely feel the need to swear strongly, but 'bleeders'? Fucking horrible.

SirVixofVixHall · 11/12/2018 21:22

I’m blocked too. I know i am on the madigan block list, solely because i follow some rad fems, I assume this is the same list in action ?
Honestly, the stupidity. I am the target market for a charity like this, being a woman, with daughters, and generally supporting charities that help other women and girls .
The self righteous idiocy of this, and total lack of self awareness. How can you engage with women if you block them ?
The asylum seekers you are supposed to be helping, do those women and girls believe that TWAW ? Do you refuse to engage with them if they don’t ?
How many women do they help vs how many trans identifying?
I absolutely despair of this generation of young women and what they are doing for women’s rights, in order to be popular and not one of those nasty radfems.

Beagadorsrock · 11/12/2018 21:35

I tried to reason with the BGP woman - it almost felt like we were communicating, then blocked me when I replied. Oh well.

The gist of it was - we use 'blood' language all the time to demystify it, if anyone had looked us up before getting upset they would have found it out.
Then she/her friends were up in arms at the fact that all these women were more concerned / only concerned about a word, a pun, than / instead of the great crusade about the government denying women in need sanitary products.

The unpacking would have taken a while so I might have used a word that she took issue with (or maybe just looked at my timeline and saw I retweet a lot of radfems, so am already the devil), to express the frustration from my side, that someone who is doing a good job is also in thrall to a pernicious ideology (natch, I should have used that expression, it's only come to me now). Unfortunately for her, her block message came through, I think, before the second tweet in which I said that I like Cariad and agree with the 'crusade'; and before I could explain that
1- living in a bubble (woke in, t* out) is not a good idea
2 - they obviously weren't reading the 'threatening' tweets very well

Sadly no, Hestia This is her personal Twitter account, not the charity's. You could try tweeting something 'transphobic' to her. That might do the trick. Wink I found myself on Terfbblocker before I even knew it existed, simply by saying something Aimee Challoner didn't like on the LIbDem LGBT Twitter feed.

percheron67 · 11/12/2018 21:52

I thought "bleeder" was a hospital term for someone with haemophilia As in "he is a bleeder".

HestiaParthenos · 11/12/2018 21:52

Awwww, that would have been neat.

I'm not on Twitter, anyways, so if it is only for Twitter, I don't have any use for it.

It would be nice if I got to surf the internet without encountering violent misogynists, though.

rightreckoner · 11/12/2018 22:07

In other words - we were happy with this in our woke clique because we are really only interested in signalling to each other. It really is nobody else’s business and yes we do run a charity with donors and beneficiaries but they don’t really exist - only we do in our cute little solipsistic endlessly self-referential world.

HerFemaleness · 11/12/2018 22:11

They've issued a statement

Oh right, so they were just trying to be inclusive to non-binary people and transmen ...... but wait, they weren't being very inclusive when they tweeted this article 'What if men could menstruate''

ZOMG, they don't believe transmen are real men.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 11/12/2018 22:13

Idiots. I’d be more forgiving if they were 14 year olds. No, actually my 14 year old doesn’t believe in all this toss.

stillathing · 11/12/2018 22:13

I still can't work this out. Is it not OK to say (to tie in Gaby's words in her statement with the words about her proposed vagina museum) "women, girls, transmen and some non binary people have female reproductive systems"? Is that transphobic? Why?

AncientLights · 11/12/2018 22:21

They're working on charitable status for their bloody vagina museum: can we ordinary people object to this, does anyone know? Why in the name of all that is holy should such a preposterous venture have 'charitable' status is beyond me.

rightreckoner · 11/12/2018 22:22

In theory because transmen have never ever been female, no siree. But actually because there aren’t allowed to be any female things that men don’t have.

Think of Munroe Bergdorf telling the Women’s March off for centring women’s biology with their pussy hats and talk about abortion. So transphobic Angry

stillathing · 11/12/2018 22:40

In theory because transmen have never ever been female

So it's not enough to believe in their gendered soul having been male all along? One has to believe the body was too.... Like believing literally that the bread is the body of Christ....

Weird that female isn't allowed to simply describe the body though. So, logically, is the belief "born in the wrong body" transphobic now too? If the body was male all along?

No doubt BGP is one of those "women's organisations" who can be relied upon to back the government on self ID. No doubt they secure funding this way. Was it Lisa Muggeridge who spoke of those who identified as her representation? Because these people are identifying as the representation of one of the most marginalised groups in the world - female refugees. And they think they are beyond reproach for doing so.
