Well worth a read fo4 the background on the posters, posted on twitter, that are in/around Goldsmiths.

That is such a valuable primer as to the issues in those posters and stickers - thank you for posting it.

Fantastic, thank you.

Very informative article, thanks for sharing.

The manifesto on the website is also of interest.

Wonder what it's like to be at Goldsmiths - is this widely commented on by students/staff?

Goldsmiths lgbt were happy backing an openly homophobic & aggressive man but not happy associating themselves with a woman who had fled an oppressive regime and had an opinion about her experiences?

I went to G/S 15 years ago.

I’m glad there is dissent. I was starting to think about taking it off my CV 😂

There were some truly excellent, forthright, feminist women lecturers on my course, in my time period. I know where some have moved onto and I have no reason to believe it was due to anything other than personal career progression - however, it seems they may not have been replaced and a vacuum has formed.

That said, my course was always fairly seperate to the rest of the uni (and indeed, has now has it’s own seperate building) so perhaps my experience was the anomaly?

I actually chose Goldsmiths because it was the only one of my top 4 to have an on campus nursery, ironically.

Goldsmiths lgbt were happy backing

Tsk - recall that there is an oppression Olympics and that only one group of people is entitled to all the places on the podium as The Most Oppressed Group of All Time

I wonder what our friend Spanna will make of this? She's always very keen to defend Goldsmiths. I'd forgotten all about Sara Ahmed resigning.

Ereshkigal · 02/12/2018 16:37

Oh yes I'd also be interested in Spanna's take.
