Seven Hex is on Facebook

Someone told me on Twitter that she wants her followers from Twitter to send her a Friend request on FB. I've just asked and she is very happy for me to tell Mumsnetters the same. I think she hopes to get back onto Twitter before long, but this is a way to make contact and keep in touch.

Is he collecting the real names of gender critical women? Clever.

MsMcWoodle · 28/11/2018 15:30

I can understand caution, but Seven is lovely and very definitely on our side.

I'm on both Twitter and FB under my real name, so that's not a problem for me, but I appreciate that this isn't true of everyone. I just passed on the message.

I've just looked and it is the same person from Twitter, and as MsMc said, a lovely person too..

Caution.

Visibility of friends lists etc. Regardless of how benign the person is, you have no control over who sees their profile and page and members who like or follownor re friends with.

I wouldn’t use Facebook for anything that you’re not able to have associated with your real name in the real world. I’m also pretty pissed off that just saying I’d like the law as it is upheld, safeguarding to not be weakened and women’s rights not to be tossed aside is something I have to do Anonymously. But that's where we are with this.

Ereshkigal · 28/11/2018 18:17

Yes be careful. No reflection on Seven Hex but member groups/pages are easily infiltrated if a page were to be set up. I've seen lots of doxxing in Facebook groups. Also friend lists as Bowl said are often visible to others without you knowing.

welshgendercrit · 28/11/2018 18:40

Friends lists are only visible to your friends if you organise your security settings properly. I have absolutely no personal information other than my name on my public FB profile. I have my posts set only to go to friends, not friends of friends. If someone sees I'm friends with Seven Hex, they can still see nothing about me other than my blank personal profile if they are not my friend. I regularly check my profile as other see it, just to be sure.

Oh I hope she does get back on Twitter, I've missed her. I've just found out the ban hammer has come down on another of our lot @drorlanowatt though fortunately only a suspension

toriap2 · 29/11/2018 07:12

The banhammer is madness at the moment. One TW got banned for saying they were male. Twitter literally banned a TW for stating biological facts and therefore misgendering themselves.

CrazyToast · 29/11/2018 16:20

Seven got banned for being GC?
