Backstory, I left WEP after their summary treatment of Heather Brunskell-Evans and their lack of due process.

I know a number of people here joined WEP after the conference with a determination to change things from the inside - a choice that I respect.

For anyone who did that - are you making any headway at local level or does it still vary enormously one branch from another?

I would vote for, join and donate to a women's lib party that understood what a woman is and had some ovaries when it came to standing up and speaking out for us

Some people are making progress at a local level to take the WEP in a direction that actually centres women and girls. But it takes time- a lot of us are new to political involvement and the TRAs have had a head start

I've had a set back. The person who runs the local party, and who attends meetings at adjacent branches too, is trans.

I'm still pondering the tactics for my first meeting. Any advice would be appreciated!

Does anyone have an estimate of how much it would cost to set up a political party in the UK specifically to protect those members of the population with XX chromosomes? I'd happily set up a £10/month direct debit to see it come into being.

I don't suppose we'd be allowed to register the Cunty Women's Liberation Party, but perhaps XX Women's Liberation Party would be OK?

theOtherPamAyres I guess you'll have to go along and weigh it all up. Is branch full of handmaidens or GNCers? How is power displayed within group? - such as does one person talk more than others or are some people's ideas always agreed upon/pandered to. What are the local issues, what's missing or over done....finally take some of those toothy looking cakes along, THEY ARE BLOODY FAB
