...talked to my colleagues about MRAs, hopefully in a rational and informative way.

I'd love to hear about everyone else's micro (or not so micro!) acts of feminism.

@Serfisafleur

Bravo, you miss my point entirely in respect to freedom of thought and more importantly tne context in which language is used 🙄

You level 1 thinking response, providing me with a dictionary definition, sadly only part of the definition however, does nothing to further the cause of feminism and in my opinion harms it. You neglected to include an alternative definition being “a young, immature woman, especially formerly, an unmarried one”. So in some contexts, one being when addressing you, it is entirely appropriate (and i have no idea about your marital status Wink).

Sadly I think while your intentions are good but you are destined to continue to miss the point and while many like you do our cause will not be furthered and those like you will be responsible

@WichBitchHarpyTerfThatsMe

I can’t disagree with a word of your post, you are more than entitled to like or dislike how you would like to be referred to. I take issue with those who tell the rest of us how we should feel and what we should be offended by.

I completely advocate anyone’s right to think independently and express it in a fair minded way, as you have done

Was teaching about feminism and popular music, made clear what sex and gender are, outlined the debate, openly challenged libfeb views and got a shitload of 20 year old males genuinely interested in feminism.

I remembered this thread after something I did that made me laugh today...

I was at a 4 year old child's birthday party. One of the Dad's who is basically a friend, they work at the BBC as an editor. He is also Canadian!
Now the combination of Canada and the BBC was literally too much for me to resist.

I worked the conversation to Canadian politics, Justin Trudeau etc. Mostly us both agreeing and nodding along together, environmental issues, economy, etc all good. Then I just HAD to say, feigning innocence, "but in Canada, I hear male people who identify as women can compete against women in sport and anyone can just tick a box to change sex! How outrageous!"

He started saying "well it's a bit more complicated than that"
I interjected with "well, what brought this to my attention was Racheal McKinnon who recently broke a women's cycling world record in Canada. Of course they broke it, what with being born a man and everything. How are women supposed to compete with that?"

Cue either a peak trans moment from them or a "run away from the dangerous feminist" moment because they had nothing to say and scanned the room very energetically to find an excuse to get away from me!

Next time I see him I'll enjoy another similar encounter lol.

Next time, ask him his opinion on JY. Peak trans or what.
