"Fresh From The Soil...Society Of Immortal Lesbians. In 2018, the LGBTQI community has not learned from the past: We have become a narcissistic infiltrated community, dominated by a corporate and media driven façade of our true selves. No longer the mavericks of ideas that transform the arts, politics or social movements, by in large, the LGBTQI platform is currently being used to usher in a "misogynist gender/sexual revolution" that was birthed in academia and then pumped and pimped through media giants like Time Warner and Viacom.
What happened to my radical brothers and sisters who used to challenge the status quo around lesbian and gay stereotypes, sexism, classism, racism, ableism etc,? What happened to my brothers and sisters who chose to look within, scrutinizing the ways they/we internalized the hatred of homophobia and sexism. All the while, creating safe spaces that helped eradicate these social ills from our beings and bedrooms?
Instead our community is transfixed and divided by the seductive gender identity movement that is nothing more than an agenda, to ultimately silence females and girls no matter how we classify, identify or see ourselves. Our community is perverse in the way it has objectified, co-opted or vilified the lesbian, I.e. "anyone can be one a lesbian, males are lesbians too or lesbians are bigots because they exclusively love the female form, her biology and spirit."
Right now, in these shadowy times when patriarchy is fighting for it's very life, our community suffers from a spiritual cancer that is preventing us from speaking truth to power, about the disenfranchised status of the female mind, body and spirit. This cancer is deeply rooted in the undiagnosed internalized sexism, misogyny and homophobia that prevents us from accepting same sex unions between females and is why it has become the cultural norm for the LGBTQI community, to publicly, politically or culturally disassociate itself from lesbianism.
Lesbian leadership and influence can be found at the heart and head of every social movement from the civil rights to the women's movement. Our being out has always been a threat to the status quo. Lesbianism centers the female body and same sex love...which is an abomination to patriarchy. Lesbian intelligence and love does not seek male or societies approval. And we are paying a heavy toll for standing firm in acknowledging our female love of one another. Lesbian erasure is real. What are we going to do about it sisters?
This is the baggage patriarchy does not want females to unpack, speak about or organize around. To dispel the lies and myths between females is paramount to our evolution and liberation. In the name of our lesbian ancestors who have fought this battle for generations.
